Stop. What you are thinking wont work
No
Ignore the manifold and elbow for the pressure test. In fact, unbolt them
Pull the 1" supply line from the transom shield and the coolant supply hose to the exhaust manifold and tee together to pressure test the block
Unbolt the exhaust elbow from...
start with pressure testing the motor. take the line from the exhaust manifold and the line from the transom shield and tee them together. put a pressure gauge and a schroeder valve
make sure the cooling water jacket is empty
pressurize to 15 psi
welcome aboard
mooring cover should be like putting on a fitted sheet on the bed, however with a tent pole or two in the middle and some straps on the side.
it will become obvious as you start to install it.
wiring diagram is in the factory service manual for the motor/drive
purple wire (ignition) is daisy chained to all the gauges
black wire (ground) is daisy chained to all the gauges
dark blue wire (lights) is daisy chained to all the gauge lights
grey wire (tach) goes to the tachometer signal...
yes
to acetone check, you fill up the elbow with acetone and see if it leaks thru.
you may have to build a block-off plate and use gaskets
personally, i would just buy a new elbow
welcome aboard.
what did you do to "renew" your motor?
your motor getting that warm is an issue it should never ever ever get over 160-170F (71-76C)
going to 100C / 212 F means you have a cooling water flow issue (you dont have enough flow)
with a carburetor, the only "sensor" in the...
you pull the front pulley and use a crankshaft socket, or you pull the starter and pry on the flywheel teeth
or better yet, pull the drive, pull the motor (45 minute job), put the motor on an engine stand
acetone check your used manifold and riser however if the block was cracked on the free boat, so were the manifolds. the reason blocks crack is the exact same reason manifolds crack : lack of winterization
pressure check the new to you motor should hold 15-20 psi all day long
since you put...
What is your compression numbers?
What is your fuel preasure?
You are posting in the OMC forum about a 350 mag (mercruiser) so what motor do you have?
List the serial number
Seafoam is snake oil
Pull the injectors and send them in to be cleaned
yes, get both a base to manifold gasket and a top gasket
pull the carb off, put it on the bench (in a catch basin). pull it apart and remove the fish and other flotsam
