    Most boat manufactures do it this way. Just make a rounded place with the wood and give room for layers of glass when installing. Also keep the transom from sitting flush against the bottom of the hull, I used about a 3/8 to 1/4 gap and wrapped glass around to the bottom.

    If it looks like the fin on the upper ones (A & B or E) then this is normal. This is used to reduce torque steer on your boat.

    The ones shown here are your gimbal and hinge pins. Give the gimbal 2 to 3 pumps, the hinge pins just push a bit in and you should see grease start to show in the opening between the two halves.
