    You have to vet your parts guy. Walk in to any FLAPS ( Friendly Local Auto Parts Store) and ask for valve cover gaskets for an SBC. If the guy/gal asks for year/make/model, walk out and shop elsewhere. If he/she asks perimeter or center, then buy parts from them.

    there is the large fuse at the starter which supplies the motor, there is the control voltage which comes from the helm. have you checked voltage while operating at the motor? is the motor itself getting voltage?

    Not sure how you know that as the same 454 block that went into a chevelle, also went into trucks, boats, ambulances and other things. Hope the core plugs are brass, and the cylinder gaskets are marine. Hope the cam is either Marine or Truck
