Bravo Shift cable tool (drive end)

Agree with the 7/8 once the other end is adjusted using the cable extension tool and it's installed within spec. Now if you have a band new cable it should be pre-adjusted and all you need to do is adjust the height (3 inch) of the pivot point and install, no other adjusting is required.

    Mercruiser 260 died won't start

The first pick is for what you should be wired to, the second is if you have a coil with internal resistance. http://prestoliteperformance.com/media/instructions/mallory/Mallory_Instructions_unilite_distributor_37_38_45_47.pdf Here is the test procedure and the type of coil which should...

Delayed starting of '07 5.7L with TKS system, is this normal?

Howdy Scott No, there is not a oil pressure delay to keep the engine from starting. The starting circuit is the same for TKS as with any other carb motor using an electric fuel pump. When the key is turned to start 12V is applied to the starter solenoid and at the same time the 12V bypasses...

Throttle Tension Issues and Control Box Removal (Pics attached)

Don't know if you have a tension spring or not. I have the same control on my Rinker which is identified in pic below. The guts of the control should be one of the items also pointed out below. Need to go thru and see which one you have, but you first must remove the control to see which you have

    Merc 807757T V8 Idler Pulley

Just some info for the idler pulley used by Merc on there 6 groove pulley 807757T. Mine started making some noise so I took it to NAPA. The part is made by Dayco with P/N 00076. It is NAPA P/N 38009 for $24 instead of the $40 for Merc or Sierra $34 P/N 18-6457 Edit: It also fits V6 models

2003 Mercruiser 6.2 MPI Exhaust Manifold cracks

With free flowing water as we know it flows the path of least resistance. My thought remains that somehow the manifold is not getting sufficient water to it. From the hose routing the risers and manifold is getting water but the amount is probably the issue. Could be getting more in the riser...

    Dump Gun Use

Like info from those who have used the 100 model dump gun. It talks about not using a 1/4 air fitting but the larger fittings will not screw in. Figure I'll need a new regulator because the one which have been using has an auto oiler on it. There was a mixing carb which came with it but maybe...

    Engine coupler saga....

Still don't see any reason to replace the rear mounts unless they are falling apart. The engine sits on the fiber washer direct against the transom plate mounting. The rubber bushings are used to resist flex. The spring washer does the rest. So even if the mount was trashed, the engine...

2003 Mercruiser 6.2 MPI Exhaust Manifold cracks

That housing is for the 3 point drain system, and that system is a rats nest of hoses IMO. You could have flow problems just from all the hoses. The pic has the part number and size Thinking your problem could be in this area, if what is not going out thru the exhaust but circulating back...

2003 Mercruiser 6.2 MPI Exhaust Manifold cracks

While not certain I'm leaning toward lack of water. Don't know for sure but the 7.4 and 8.2 had issues with injector on cylinder 7 (3-back port side) of running leaner then the others. This was caused by the intake port was not as large as others. Not that this is the issue it may only be a...

dimensions for tailer for 2000 Maxum 3000 SCR

Howdy Kind of sounds to me that your buying a trailer from folks that don't do a lot of them. No expert here but most boat trailer manufactures I have talked to just want to know the year and model and they can make it. Maybe call one of the major manufactures if someone can not give you what...

Grind, grind and more grind, well glass and other stuff coming in today, so I can start doing rebuild. Was thinking about turning the boat upside down and re-gelcoat the bottom and sides before I build the stringers and transom back. It's real flimsy now, so don't know what whould be the...
