2012 3.0L TKS runs great with muffs, but slow on lake...

Flow is not the same as pressure. As long as the pressure is still >4 or so you should be fine. This also rules out a downstream restriction, as mentioned earlier. Unless it's fuel quality, you don't have a fuel problem before the pump at this point. I also don't think this is flow related...

Pressure was measured at speed I believe. If still present that should rule out the valve, no?

Normally trying to lube a cable is a losing bet. The throttle cable needs some preload on it to close the throttle completely though. Remove the cable and see if it's smooth. Certainly not related to the low rpm problem though.

    Source/question for a crossmember?

Ended up buying something off the rack, I'll see what happens over the weekend. The crossmember has a drop in the middle. Guessing that would cost more to get it custom fab, and I hate going on scavenger hunts for parts.

    projects other than boats

The deeper I dig, the more rot I find. So much fun trying to match actual 1908 lumber dimensions to dimensional lumber.

maintenance yes, performance no. a points setup won't leave you dead in the water.

    Source/question for a crossmember?

3 x 3" box with a drop, rail to rail is 53", bolt hole distance 49", total length 51" Yeah I found a good bit but nothing exact. Not a big deal to cut it down. I had already bought some zinc primer planning to sand and coat a few spots on the trailer and lift before they get out of hand.

    Source/question for a crossmember?

Noticed my rear crossmember had some significant rot. it's a bolt on but I can't find the right size. I figure I can cut it down and drill a longer one but would be worried about the galvanizing. suggestions? anybody know if I can get a custom one made non local (guessing that won't be worth it)

2012 3.0L TKS runs great with muffs, but slow on lake...

I'm talking about all connections everywhere, not just the plug wires. I already mentioned how to test for misfires under load. At 3k rpm you might not hear much. your fuel pressure sounds fine. I'm also in the minority here where sometimes it is the coil.

1979 Cobalt 18DV w/ MerCruiser 260 and Alpha 1 - No Raw water to engine

2k on muffs might be enough to overheat. Pull the line to the stat and see if you're getting flow

2012 3.0L TKS runs great with muffs, but slow on lake...

Doesn't sound nuts...sounds electrical. Though could also be that the carb is fueling differently because of the angle. Any change when hitting a wake? Have you checked spark at speed? Rereading the thread I see that the spark was checked at idle, but not under load? I'm broken record about...

thinking of a Delco EST ignition system conversion but have a few concerns....

Huh, you have points? I'd stick with them. Throw a spare set in the toolbox and you won't be stranded on the water. Assuming you can get a pertronix or something for the OMC though if you wanted to? Or even convert to a TB IV if you find a used setup...

2012 3.0L TKS runs great with muffs, but slow on lake...

Yes shutters=flappers. Maybe time to throw a vacuum gauge on it? Could show some subtle problems. It would also show an exhaust restriction, which might be tough to diagnose otherwise
