    Nothing comes close to my Evinrudes carbed 2 strokes. 1986 and 1999. All the Cars with F I are erratic. The F I with Direct Injection are constant make oil on short trips. In the summer time in N Y . Will be worse this winter in N J. Carbed older engines never made oil.

    Trailer Tongue Too Long?

    Or very shallow angled ramps. 1 near me. It is to difficult almost anytime. I drive farther and enjoy it more. I can back in enough to float the boat. Start engine. Back off the trailer and tie up to a dock. Park the trailer.

    Prop problem

    Close enough logic. Best to buy a SUBSURFACE depth map of ALL the areas you would ever drive in. Then you can SEE what is dangerous tothe motor. Plastic covered maps are great if they also show what the shallows are made of. Saved me lots of hits and junk sucked into water pump.

    A bad electrical problem a distance away. Can cause that electrical battery condition to ungrounded metal parts. Where I boat. I have no corrosion problems. NO electric on the docks or at least 1/2 mile away.

    No substitute for lots of practice. Why I now do not use the trailer. Simply have the marina do the put it away & put it in the water. Worth the money.

    Post #3 said your spark gap tester shows a reddish glow ? BAD. Should be white or blue very thin arc in air. Testing arcs with no load on the prop can be useless. Have you adjusted the carburetor float correctly ? There are 2 dimensions
