I get that on some, What I do is pull the stick up a couple inches and let it sit for awhile. Then check the level. The oil in the tube can settle where it needs to be, not on the side of the tube.
I usually install a hose directly to the pump itself. I understand how you can’t get to it. Usually when the tank is just drained there is a few gallons left behind. After winterizing I hook the pump back up and leave all faucets open.
Drain everything, bypass kit on the water heater, disconnect the line from the storage tank and hook up your anti freeze. Run till it comes out of each faucet.
Never had an issue or color change. Usually only a couple gallons is all that's needed. Unless you have a larger system.
Nope. The fuel goes to the bilge if the diaphragm leaks. You want a marine pump with the safety hose that runs to the carb. I'm sure some of the leak will get in the oil but not all of it.
I'm just thinking outside the box here. You could have went to the homeware dept and borrowed a scale, weighed both batteries and see if there is a difference. I've done similar things when at the store comparing items, Forgot to bring a tape measure? they have them in the tool section.
Clean to you and clean to me are two different things. You can wipe the dirt with a q-tip, its not clean. A little hard for me to see damage unless it's cleaned and dry. Brake clean and a wipe down isn't to hard.
Nice. I should be hunting right now! Been rather busy with life, I’m going to setup my ground blind next week.
sit on the couch all day, they call ya lazy. Sit in the blind all day, they call you an active warrior! Lol
I have an old 17.5 chapparal. !983, mercruiser 120. She's beat and at the end of life. It will do about 35 mph by myself, with two onboard, it's about 30. If I put the proper prop on it may do better but it's going away next spring. I bent the prop that was on it before I had a chance to test...
Neighbors pontoon motor was doing the same thing. I cheched it over but with it being an injected motor, i'm old school. Couldn't figure it out, the telltale was pumping strong. He took it to a dealer, they changed the impeller. Problem solved. Who knew? Old dog learning new things.....
Wondering if there is a airleak somewhere before the pump. Or was it possible that you picked up some debris on the out drive while on the lake. Hope we figure this out. Are the external hoses in good shape?
edit. You posted that^^ while I was responding. Hhhmmm. Never saw one damaged like that.
Had a customer several years ago that had the same issue. He brought the boat to us and I had a heck of a time figuring it out. Fine on hose, not on lake. I finally told him it could be the pump itself. I even had the clear hose on the output side of the pump, No air bubbles. After replacing the...
yeah, I don't buy cheap carbs. I did once. It was a total failure. I rebuild carbs myself so I don't know why I did that. lol Afer rebuilding properly, it ran like a champ. Did you change the filter at the carb itself? The one where the line goes into the carb.
