    Mercontrol Shifter Issues

At a certain point they do wear out. I've messed with some that style and found the housing where the slides are chewed up and bushings shot ect. At this point I'd think you had best look for a new housing control. You could take the chance and get a used one and use parts from both to make it...

    Quit My Job . . .

Yeah. Some managers are spot on perfect. Others are so far south of what they do the whole business suffers.

    EFB Batteries

I've had no luck with interstate batteries. Anything else I use is fine. Interstate used to be good but not any more.

    Lost oil in sterndrive

What Scott said^^. Also remember that it won’t pressure check properly with the drive installed on the boat, the pressure will simply go to the oil tank in the engine bay Unless you can seal off the tank or line going to it.

    Electric head, but no breaker

I'd suggest you have someone more familiar with boats and their systems have a look at your boat. It sounds like you don't know a whole lot about them. No offence inteded here.

    2018 Superhawk onboard charger

Get a three bank charger. There are others out there, just find one that suits your needs. As far as running wiring, sometimes you have to create a path for it...

    Winterizing: Fuel in tank options?

I store with however much fuel is left. This year should be 3/4 tank. No stabilizer, e-10. It always starts fine and performs well in the spring. Granted it's a 1984 mercruiser 140, but it works. On all my lawn equipment I only use preimum fuel, just because they can have issues as they sit...

    Wooden stringers

I used marine plywood. More layers and no voids.

    Wooden stringers

I used epoxy and clamped them together. Rounded the top edges so the glass would wrap well. I suppose tightbond three would be ok as you are wrapping them anyway.

    1988 21' Starcraft Marine Electrical Question ??

Yes re-attach it. It's to stop corrosion.

    Wooden stringers

Use plywood, saturate with epoxy and glass over. I laminate it to the correct width/height. If glassed properly, it's sealed inside there and should never get wet.

    1988 21' Starcraft Marine Electrical Question ??

That wire is green 8 gauge I assume. it's a bonding wire. All the thru-hulls and water pickups, fuel fill should have them. They bond the system to ground to help eliminate corrosion on drives and sparks from the fuel fill. Make sure they are all in place.

    Trouble bleeding air

Something I did to myself once: forgot to turn the valve back on at the tank.

    Trouble bleeding air

Had one several years ago that a customer brought in. Took a while but I found a double gasket on a racor filter. Problem solved.

    Is the buddy heater safe?

Depends on where the fuel tank is and if no fumes/leaks are inside the boat. No blowers on most outboards but to me there should be if the fuel tank is under the deck.

    Crankshaft sound?

It also helps seal the starter from any sparks that make their way to the Bendix area from igniting fuel fumes, that's why it has a gasket. I see not much of a need for the gasket but the mfg puts them in. The cover itself is to protect you if you reach down there while running. Also I saw one...

How do you shift gears?? Merc 9.9 Four stroke

I was going to suggest just that. If you have never worked on certain things sometimes it's best to have a qualified mechanic service, it. The previous owner did not do that, I've seen a lot of owner related stuff over the years. Most of the time I explain to the owner how things work and how...

    Any Archers, archery hunters here?

Still have to set up my stuff. Being retired I thought I’d have more hunting time. Not yet. To many things to get done before the white stuff comes.

    Removing Bell Housing

Depends on what you want to spend on an older boat. Possibly a machine shop could bore out the pin area and press a bushing in there to repair it.
