    My casing is not perfectly flat. The middle part is raised a bit. I measure a difference varying from 0.005'' to 0.020''. Is it supposed to be perfectly flat? Is that wear and if so, when too much is too much? It's on a Volvo 5.7Gi-D 2004

    I went the easy route finally. I removed the nut, cover and grommet, put some silicone and reassembled. Flat rubber washer seemed fine though. Maybe not tightened enough? Should be fine now.

    I do. When my HP fuel pump died, I ordered a Carter one using the number on this forum, but the hose fitting was different. So I ordered a chinese Volvo complete assy for like $200 and it is bolt on and has been running fine the whole season.

    I got the new assembly from Amazon. Looks good, works fine. I did a 5 hrs ride yesterday and it was fine. I just find it more noisy than the Volvo part. Does anyone with that unit can confirm it is normal? Other than that it's working fine.
