    to fog or not to fog (that is the question)

    have a 1985 50 hp. evinrude with vro. I usually fog in the water but this year I was unable to do it. should I just pull the plugs out, spray and crank it over ?

    motor conrol id for a 1985 evirude 50 h.p.

    cable seem stiff, don't know if it is the cold(35deg.) or if it just needs replacement. bought the boat used, replaced the steering cable and think that the control cable is probably original or just old. does anyone know which cable # fits that motor. don't see any #'s on cable.

    2 -12 volt batteries run in series to run a 24volt trolling motor

    have 2-12 volt batteries that are separated (one on each side of the boat) and was going to use a separate charger for each battery. was going to use a minnkota MK-106d single bank charger foe each battery. can't seem to find room for a duel bank charger and would have to run a long extention...

    removed the prop and could not find any stamped numbers on the prop. how can you determine the size and pitch ?

    1985 starcraft ss battery position

    16ft. starcraft ss trolling motor battery positioning have a ss model (1985) with a bow mount min-kota edge,( I) battery, mounted in the very front under the seats. would like to upgrade to a 24 volt I pilot , 2- 12volt battery 24 volt motor . not sure of where to place batteries close enough...

    minkota lift cord

    have a minkota edge motor and have gone through 3 cords in a year. is there anything stronger than the original cord I can use? I de-burred and polished all surfaces that touch the cord . the lift itself is easy and smooth moving.

    what should the volt output on my1986 50hp evinrude be when running (15-20 mph). it is putting out around 12.5-12.8 now. if it needs something, is it something I can myself.

    I-O HEATING UP

    IS THERE A WAY TO BACK FLUSH A LOWER UNIT TO SEE IF IT PLUGGED WITH SEAWEED OR MOSS. BIG BLOCK MOTOR (494) IT WAS SITTING IN THE WATER IN A HEAVILY WEEDED AREA FOR AWHILE. HAD NO INDICATION BEFORE AS TO HEATING UP. CAN ANYONE HELP?

    bearing buddy bras

    why would a bearing bra fall off? seems like every time a take a trip I loose one on the same side of the trailor.. brand new bearing buddy that came with the bra.

    no bow &stern lights

    have a pull switch for the lights. power to the switch. when checking for power coming out of switch, there is power even when the pull switch is closed. could I have lost the ground somehow? the wires going to the lights are grey and black. is the ground the black ones? if I lost the ground...

    have read in the forum from a member that he adds a little oil to the gas. if he is reading this topic please let me know how much he uses. I have a vro system on my 1985 evinrude 50hp. motor runs like a bear and want it to stay what way..he said omc suggests a little oil when running high...

    motor runs excellent and but seems to have a problem in rough water. almost sounds like the prop is coming out of the water. the rpms rise and fall. is there a clutch that can be adjusted or the prop nut be tightened?

    was thinking about fishing Seneca lake for perch but was not sure when is the best fall time to go. can anyone suggest a place to stay for a few nights? would probably put the boat in at roy's marina. (glass factory bay area)

    mitchell 300x spinning reel

    need a bail spring for the reel. it is not the round spring like the old 300's, it is the long spring around 1/8 inch dia x1.00 inch long. can't seem to find anything online. the bail will not completely open when starting to retrieve.

    speedometer wheel location

    was relocating the wheel bracket on the transom and could not remember if the wheel was totally under the hull or if it was only half ways? was thinking of the centerline of the wheel even with the bottom of the boat.
