    The 33 is an excellent / rugged motor.----Same crank and rods as the 40 HP model that year.---Stronger gears / bearings that some newer 50 HP motors.

    Replace the water jacket gasket.----There is no cylinder head on that motor.-----What is your starting procedure?-----What are the actual compression values?----Have you installed a new water pump impeller ?---

    ???--Multi piece crankshaft.------Rods do not have caps.----Therefor the crank and pistons go in as an assembly.

    ???----I believe it is clearly listed under 9.8 models.-----Perhaps a quality Canadian produced model.
