    adding 2 cycle oil

    have (2) full 6 gal. tanks and want to add the oil in them now. should I just pour the oil in and shake the tanks or some how try and mix it as it goes in? just removed the vro system. want to make sure the gas is blended with the oil.

    am planning on removing the vro system when I take the boat out of the water for the winter. is it as easy to do like I see on videos or should I take it to a mechanic and have him do it?

    trailor strap hook extenable pole

    seen one on the net but can't seem to find one advertised. you grab the strap hook and extend it out to the boat ring on the bow and hook it on. no need to get in or near the water.

    spark jumping from top of coil wire

    what would cause the spark to jump from the top of the coil wire booth to the I assume the small ground wire next to it? (chev. big block)

    sometime hard starting (1985 evenrude vro 50hp)

    when I have a full tank it seems to start up easier than when it has a 1/2 tank or less. pump it up and it will take a few seconds to fire up.when it has 1/2 tank or less. could it be a weak fuel pump?

    ethanol gas additives

    have a 1986 outboard motor which states gas with up to 10% ethanol is ok. have seen additives which state that it removes the problems that ethanol creates.. has anyone used these products?

    have a 1985 evinrude 50 hp. had the motor checked out and was told the 2 cylinders had 135 and 130 com. is that ok for this motor. runs like a bear!

    should the primer bulb on the vro oil line be as soft as the gas line bulb

    rough running evenrude 50 vro

    starts right up, runs ok for a while and then seems to run rough like it is running on one cylinder for a few seconds and then clears up and runs strong. fogged it when I put it away.. is one of the carbs clogged? should I take it out and run it on a load to try and clear it?

    have a 1985 50 hp. evinrude with vro. I usually fog in the water but this year I was unable to do it. should I just pull the plugs out, spray and crank it over ?

    have new cable and want to install them. what is the proper procedure?

    motor conrol id for a 1985 evirude 50 h.p.

    cable seem stiff, don't know if it is the cold(35deg.) or if it just needs replacement. bought the boat used, replaced the steering cable and think that the control cable is probably original or just old. does anyone know which cable # fits that motor. don't see any #'s on cable.

    2 -12 volt batteries run in series to run a 24volt trolling motor

    have 2-12 volt batteries that are separated (one on each side of the boat) and was going to use a separate charger for each battery. was going to use a minnkota MK-106d single bank charger foe each battery. can't seem to find room for a duel bank charger and would have to run a long extention...

    removed the prop and could not find any stamped numbers on the prop. how can you determine the size and pitch ?

    1985 starcraft ss battery position

    16ft. starcraft ss trolling motor battery positioning have a ss model (1985) with a bow mount min-kota edge,( I) battery, mounted in the very front under the seats. would like to upgrade to a 24 volt I pilot , 2- 12volt battery 24 volt motor . not sure of where to place batteries close enough...

    minkota lift cord

    have a minkota edge motor and have gone through 3 cords in a year. is there anything stronger than the original cord I can use? I de-burred and polished all surfaces that touch the cord . the lift itself is easy and smooth moving.

    what should the volt output on my1986 50hp evinrude be when running (15-20 mph). it is putting out around 12.5-12.8 now. if it needs something, is it something I can myself.

    I-O HEATING UP

    IS THERE A WAY TO BACK FLUSH A LOWER UNIT TO SEE IF IT PLUGGED WITH SEAWEED OR MOSS. BIG BLOCK MOTOR (494) IT WAS SITTING IN THE WATER IN A HEAVILY WEEDED AREA FOR AWHILE. HAD NO INDICATION BEFORE AS TO HEATING UP. CAN ANYONE HELP?
