I went in knowing I needed to do it and it was still a gut punch.the realization you can't not do everything over is rough.

Thinking about making a trailer cover... Opinions wanted.

The one I currently use, 2 beach balls are sufficient for the bow. We're in the middle of a long drought so maybe it'll just never rain again.

more or less the plan. I'm going to build 2 bows for the bow railing and that should take care of it.

Thinking about making a trailer cover... Opinions wanted.

Since this swung off topic a bit, I got two things. First, we're going to (finally) start grading the side of the house and cut the curb for the driveway for the pole barn/building. That transitioned to dad wants to keep his trucks in there and build a shop. (I'm still actively house shopping...

95 Sea Ray 230 Sundancer stringer repair

On the moisture meter, if you have a known "dry" piece of wood around, you can use that to set your zero for the meter too... they almost never read zero when it's dry in my experience. In my case 15% was the number fir dry and I considered anything 10% above that gone. (It was way above that. I...

    1995 Crownline 202BR Restore

I think I drilled... 44 holes? There were 14 on each side of the floor (7 hull to outer stringer, 7 outer stringer to main stringer) for a total of 28. 6 under the fuel tank. 3 under the bow/cabin floor. 4 under the 2 outside under V berth compartments and 4 in the forward berth compartment...

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

Moved the boat to the marina since theyre starting to grade the side yard for the pole barn. Pulled off the winter tarp. Supposed to be in the 70s the next couple days so I figured it wouldn't hurt to air out for now after sitting. May end up out on it. Who knows lol.

    New Stuff on Vehicles likes/dislikes

I'm fat... so the seat is nearly all the way back to start with anyway. :p I like the little "you are driver one for radio presets and seat and mirror positions" message though. Does still seem like more stuff to go wrong though and isn't really necessary.

My 03 escalade has the easy move seat for entering and exit. Take the key out it moves and step out. Unlock the same thing. Thought it was pretty trick back in the day.

I have no issue with 5x7s. They work way better than people give them credit for. Coincidentally the tails were fine. I suspect it was a combination of how fast it was coming down plus how much was on the ground... Don't know how much rain-x would have improved the situation... My 8 mile run...

    New Stuff on Vehicles likes/dislikes

During the last blizzard, found a new hate for LED headlights. Not warm enough to self defrost in whiteout conditions. The HIDs in my truck were perfectly fine. The F-150, denali, and expedition... not so much. (we were testing the trucks in the compound at work. Luckily that type of snow...

Laminating 3/4" Coosa to make 1.5" transom

us composites lists their 1708 as epoxy compatible. (No binder/coating just glass fibers) Not the regular csm though as it uses a binder to hold the fibers together. Or am I missing something and my side project is going to come apart?

Laminating 3/4" Coosa to make 1.5" transom

Scott, you sure about the 1708? The ones I've seen and used are stitched meaning its good to go for epoxy. No styrene needed. (This would be us composites and whatever my local place sells....)

    2000’s Bayliner 175 I/O

The 250 is heavy and long... it's only real drawback. I think there is a ~75 lb difference between the 350 and 250. I imagine the intake/exhaust manifold is a pain to cast too. Dad had one in his invader. It did 50 per the brochure with the "165" the base "228" 305 did about 60 and the 350 was...

No dipstick on 1989 era 3.0L?

I noticed the transmission dip sticks first. Seems the US manufacturers still give you an oil dipstick. But those darn Germans have been cheating us for almost 20 years. (have a BMW i take care of without any, pain in the ass)
