    1968 Hydroswift

Jump in... when cleaned up I bet it will be a great boat, unique for sure. There is a lot of info on boat restoration on youtube. Restoring the transom will be a big job if needed. The motor and out drive may be a challenge tho. Parts are made from unobtanium.

    When To Dewinterize

I wait till May to bring the boat out and even then I don't put it in the water until the end of May after all the dead heads are gone... We are still in the dark days of winter... just blew out my drive way, over a foot of snow,

1978 Sea Ray SRV 240 Manual needed

Unfortunately boats don't have manuals. They have the brochure telling all the great things about the craft you just purchased but no manual. You need to google it or just ask what question you have. Most parts are all separate from the boat manufacturer, example motor may be Merc or Volvo...

Hook up boat engine to permanent magnet generator.

First off I don't know much about this kind of stuff and likely showing my ignorance but.... how does Ford put in the 120 volt outlet in their F150? ... and I do understand sparks and a bilge don't go together.

Help needed with crestline aluminum boat

Ya, you need the HIN for get the year and it might be to old to have one on it. Does father in-law have a HIN or serial number for the hull? The gauges would be what ever you put on it, same for the seats. For the most part manufactures make the hull and use third party for the rest, gauges...

What is the year, make, and model of this boat?!

I would think the HIN would be stamped into the hull and is not removable with out a grinder and that would sure send up red flags... My 2 cents are a Bayliner..

    Moisture meters & used boats

Good question, I have always just checked for soft spots. I will sit back and read the comments. Full disclosure here, I have owned three boats in the last 20 years. The first two were POS and the last I bought off the show room floor.

    What is my boat worth

I can't determine the value of a 33 year old go fast boat. I think it would be worth what ever someone is going to pay for it. There are so many factors involved here. Was the boat stored in side, was it professionally winterized every year, how many owners did it have, condition, condition...

    92 188 Spyder ?

LOL, I guess what I was trying to do was give him my info and RMP at WOT. I mentioned the prop and light boat because he likely would not be able to get the same speed but should have the same RMP.... Just trying to be helpful.

    92 188 Spyder ?

just to compare I have a 4.3 mercury alpha one gen 2. Like yours its 190 hp with a 24 inch prop (it should be a 23 inch). On the GPS I can run 51 to 54 MPH (depending on the conditions and what I had for lunch) with just me (230lb) and half a tank of gas and tach 4600 RPM. Keep in mind my boat...

    Opinions on winter storage?

correct me if I am wrong but if you lower the motor on a outboard the water drains out? It was my impression the only winterizing on a outboard is checking and changing the gear oil, fogging the motor and stabilizing the gas?
