    anybody try this anchor?

    anybody use these anchors that fold up to stow away? i cant find a pic, so i ll tryy to describeit it has 4 leafs that fold up and are held there with a ring. the ring also holds the leafs open so it looks like you have a cross with a curve and the stem is where the chain goes.

    running too cold??

    just got my boat together last week. took it out on the river, and it ran great. except that it would not get over 110 degrees. or at least according to the gauge. changed to new sending unit, same problem. when i ground the wire, it pins the gauge over. 96 merc 4.3lx. i have two sending units...

    how long can i run on muffs?

    how long can i run my boat(96 4.3 merc) on the muffs? i need to break it in, and it's supposed to be windy as hell tomorrow, and the river still movin' pretty good. was hoping an hour of idle up to maybe 1500. is this okay, or is it only idle on muffs?

    distributor orientation 4.3 merc

    where does the #1 terminal point on the distributor? took mine out a few months ago, and can't remember it's orientation. i have the piston at tdc, and will time the engine after it's running,but want to know what position to put the dist. in. thanks. pics would help if available.

    what plugs??

    i've got a 96 merc 4.3, which i have changed to one from a 90 jimmy. what plugs should i use for this set up? not sure if the automotive ones would be the same as marine. i'm using the ignition from the 96, but the motor is a 90.

    shift cable thread?

    anybody khow what tap i need to clean up thhe threads for the lower shift cable on alpha1 gen2? specifically where it goes thruogh the bell housing.

    shift boot clamp?

    how tight should the crimp pclamp be on alpha one gen 2? is the cable supposed to be able to slide in and out when the outdrive goes up and down?, or is this the reason for the bellows?

    i'm going to use a truck motor in my boat, and i ve always heard i need marine head gaskets and brass welsh plugs. If my boat will never see salt water, is this still required, and what's the reason for this?
