    Hull support trestle

The issue is the boat is supported over its length by rollers so multi-point support over ab 12’. So not easy to mimic that .... hence my thoughts on 2x heavy duty stands at transom, where the weight is ....and wooden blocks matching Vee on a wooden trestle on bow.

    Hull support trestle

It’s pulling trailer out, I want to coat it all with Lanoguard. is there any reason not to use the screw Jack bolt stands I have on rear ? These are rated 5 Ton .... the tops are around 12” x 8” hard rubber support pads on heavy duty Cast swivels, onto 2” acme thread bars into triangular bases...

A follow up Q for those that have worked on this style water pump. As well as main o-ring. There are also 4 x small O-ring for the cover plate fixings. I assume you push screws through the plate, and fit onto the screws pushing onto back of plate, then fit .... would keep o-rings close to top...

    Hull support trestle

Years ago I rolled trailer off the back onto a stack of large 4x4 tyres ... but this is a heavier boat.

    Removing impeller

Guys - success ..... obtained a 3/4-16 UNF machine screw, this screws into the end of the impeller, and on tightening brought impeller out about 1/2" Then by levering with a small pry bar between spanner & housing the impeller came out. I will put a threaded M10 hole through the center of the...

    Removing impeller

It's possible ..... but I would need to know which puller has a thread of 3/4-16 I did try those part numbers on-line and nothing shows. It's a chicken & egg situation for me ..... once I have impeller off I can measure etc on the bench - until then not so easy. Annoying Volvo do not produce a...

    Removing impeller

I thought it was more confusion - there is a Sherwood 25105 and also a Sherwood 25106 the latter aligns with the video M16 Fine comment On checking the 25105 is as you state above 3/4"-16 UNF and that would have for a female thread a minor diameter of 0.6823" .... which is equal to 17.33...

    Removing impeller

Don't apologise ...... FYI just had parts supplier get the tool of shelf and try it in the impeller - and it was too small (far to loose) The 3/4"-16 thread is interesting all the other parts related to pump have been Metric. Guess I need to find a 3/4"-16 UNF machine screw. The Sherwood tool...

    Removing impeller

Do you by any chance know what thread is on the 'screw-in bolt' ? ... if I know what the thread is I could make the tool easy enough. The second of the 2 videos mentions an M16 Fine bolt, but not sure if this is for this impeller.

    Removing impeller

It would be too difficult to remove pump at full arm stretch .... fingertips can only just reach the pump.

    Removing impeller

I just spent another Hr with no luck. Managed to borrow a pair of parallel jaw pliers ... now then have immense grip. Still could not budge .... probably as I'm at arm's length so I am in effect trying to push pliers at full stretch, and not getting enough force. Unless I can make or...

    Removing impeller

Interesting - I lodged a request with Volvo spares ... their response is : "The impeller kit is VOP21700445 Although this impeller does have a threaded hub, there is no puller kit listed for it at the moment. I have checked the 3 different versions Volvo Penta sell, but none of them are the...

    Removing impeller

Thanks for the comments .... I have never removed impeller for winterising before, it was the dealer who said it should be removed to prevent a permanent set in the rubber vanes. So ‘3843948’ would be the correct part for the puller for my impeller ‘21700443’. ...... I agree if I were buying...

    Removing impeller

When I googled couple of responses say it’s for D3 engines ... do VP use common impeller ? I tried several Volvo Spares sites ... my engine is V6-280-C-N none of the sites list this, they do list V6-280-N and V6-280-CE-N On both of those they list Impeller kit as 21700445 when I look at...

    Removing impeller

Been doing some Googling ... found details of 2 types of impeller puller. . . This 2nd video mentions that you can use an M16 fine threaded screw. (3:42) . . . . Anyone know if M16 fine is correct for VP, he mentions Sherwood, I’m not familiar with that make.

Not sure it would be imperial size ... so far all screw & bolts have been metric on this. 15mm Sepentine tensioner, 9mm screws holding on pump cover. is this motor all metric ? Or a mix
