    Co-Ownership Question . . .

    I should have added... 3 owners, 3 boats = tranquility. (y)

    Fishfinder help...

Ah okay, thank you for clearing that up. I thought the way they were describing the side imaging feature was like just pointing your view from downward to sideways. In your opinion do you think a fishfinder would be useful for fishing in shallow water? Would I see far enough to the...

    Conventional Casting reels

When I was a young kid my dad taught me using one of those type of reels. It was all about the thumb action. After a few tangled messes I learned how to do it. Practice makes perfect.

    Fishfinder help...

So I need to make sure it says "CHIRP" in the description? Do I not need to worry about side imaging for really shallow water off to the sides of the boat?

    Fishfinder help...

Sorry, pain in the butt back again! I never had or used a fishfinder before. I've been researching about them and I still need some advice. I mostly fish for bass and perch in shallow lake/pond water (20' or less). I can't see myself fishing in really deep water often maybe once and a while for...

    Bass boat paint peeling

A whole weekend hah? Hopefully you have some good friends and a few power sanders. $100 - Is that total cost, sand paper and paint or is that beer money? You might want to look at paint prices and you will need a few different grits and sheets of sand paper. If you have a dust free place to...

    Add gauges or not?

Thank you. Yeah, had a close call while canoe fishing. I knew half of the pond as I normally fished one side. I decided to head way over to the other side and came across what looked like a boulder farmers wall. Dang things were less than a foot below the surface. Held my breath as I glided...

    Add gauges or not?

Hopefully last gauge question. Would the depth gauge in a fish finder be okay or do I need a stand alone gauge?

Anchor advice needed for rocky and tree bottom lake

I haven't had experience yet in motor boats, but in my canoe and small boat I used the full circle mushroom anchor. I fished in lakes and ponds and most had different underwater structures and bottoms. Sand, gravel, big rocks & boulders, soft weeds, sunken trees, etc... I had two different...

Any tricks to get Aluminum transom to tighten up post Tig?

Don't know if aluminum reacts differently than steel sheet metal. But doing auto body work usually always started from the outside of the warp or dent and worked in to the center.

    Add gauges or not?

Thank you so much Scott especially for the links. I won't need oil gauges - it's a 2-stroke.

    Add gauges or not?

WOW there's a big difference in price range. Any recommendations on which brands are good or bad? I'm trying to research info on my Mercury 500 outboard (can't find any tag/sticker on it). Do all older (78ish) 2 cycle outboards allow water pressure and water temp hookups?

    Installing new decking question

Thank you all for the replies. Guess I could/should buy more than what I "think" (calculated from online) need and start with the transom, stringers and underside of the deck. If I need more I can order more for round two of the project. Thanks again!
