    there is a thermal valve in tha starboard head with 2 bibs.. some get rid of it.. why i don't know???.. its right below tha plug for number 3.. if its there it will have two bibs.. one will ne naked and tha other with a hose goin' to tha open bib on tha bottom carb... it richens up idle circuit...

    don't fret to much 'bout it being a 175 block.. best i remember tha only difference in it and tha 200 is it has exhaust (idle) relief slots in tha sleeves..

    tha "CC" stamp tells its a 175, probably carb original.. look on tha linkage side of tha carb.. should be some numbers like those on tha one in tha picture.. not necessarily same as those but numbers of some kind... will be a number then - 1, 2, or 3.. top middle and bottom

    correct............. oiler should be oscillating beeps.. anything related ta oil should go thru a module to make warning oscillate......

    i've never had one do it but think i've heard they could possibly.. never change one switch box one at a time.. always both.. a bad bias on one can mask a problem with it and/or cause a good one ta goo bad.....

    correct on tha stator.. it can even check good with jus a resistance number but actually be "not good"... a bad high side most times a motor will perform normal in all aspects till ya get ta 2500/3000 rpm.. it will still be smooth but jus won't accelerate... timin' after ya chunk tha module...

    it could but would be down on raw power.. weight and configuration (set up) would determine how it runs with low comp.. jus tired will be different from a damaged hole...

    sounds like an electrical "start/run circuit" gremlin.. gonna need some 'lectrics testin'................ key sw, both boat and motor harness.... jmo
