Considering a 22-25ft cabin cruiser. thoughts?

They changed the hull design over a course of several years in the early 90's. Had an 1989 206C prior to purchasing the 226 in 1997. The SeaV2 was a huge upgrade in ride quality. Huge cockpit and very stable platform for trolling and inshore fishing. The perfect “pocket size” Striped bass...

Could I use isolator to charge AGM battery

Dependent upon rpm, your motor is putting out 5-50 amps per hour of run time. Given the small output and the use of a AGM, I would go with a charge relay over an isolator

Could I use isolator to charge AGM battery

More than likely he is looking at an automatic charge relay. Blue seas add a battery https://www.bluesea.com/products/7649/Mini_Add-A-Battery_Kit_-_65A

Considering a 22-25ft cabin cruiser. thoughts?

What year? I've run a Grady 226 with the SeaV2 hull for the past 20 years. Everyone always compliments how soft the boat rides.

Could I use isolator to charge AGM battery

Don't throw in the towel so quickly......my 1996 Evinrude is fully regulated. Looks like your is as well from the parts list. A 3000 W inverter is drawing more power than the alternator can output, typically 600-1400W A DC-DC convertor isn't going to solve that problem

    Thoughts on winter dust cover

Had a full enclose on last boat. No problem keeping a tarp on over the winter. A “breathable” tarp is an oxymoron :)

    Thoughts on winter dust cover

I keep my boat in my barn not far from you. Tried everything over the years. Gave up and just pull a trap (loose) over the hardtop as a dust cover and call it good. The problem is not condensation, it's the humidity. The extreme temperate fluctuations that promote condensation during layover...

Have a live mouse inside a interior wall. No insulation.

I have not used poison in rodent control since local DNR found 36 dead bald eagles, and a number of other animals, over a 3 year period traced back to secondary poisoning of rodents.

    Fuel starvation conundrum

One of the components we manufacturer is a high voltage transformer filled with insulating oil under vacuum. I've never got a straight answer as to why exactly, but components that leak under vacuum rarely leak under pressure and vice versa.

    Fuel starvation conundrum

Lead the Mechanical Design group for a numbers of years. Knew the Parker and Aeroquip catalogs like the back of my hand. Got called into a meeting last week to give my opinion on a hose failure. Couldn’t believe the difference in supposed “OE” quality hose between now and back in the day...

    Fuel starvation conundrum

I wouldn't say many……the cheap grey, “outboard” hose sold at the big box stores was junk…lol

    Fuel starvation conundrum

E10 rated hoses have been OE in the auto industry since 1989. The OE fuel hoses is my 1997 boat where E10 rated. Don't know about others. Complete hose refit in 2012. Fill hose was permeating at bend The drying out and permanent deformation of the hose at the bib is normal. Even if the hose...

    Random

Drove VW beetles back in the day. Nospecial distributor wrench required, but I do have a dwell and tach meter in the bottom drawer of the roll around. Not a car guy….have no idea how or why I came to own one.

    Bad Gas

Mixing E0 and E10 is just asking for problems. Moisture condensates and collects in the E0 tanks as well. Any residue water in the bottom of the tank from E0 would almost immediately separate when adding E10 into the mix.

    Fuel starvation conundrum

Just a thought…how old are your fuel lines? Could be a partially collapsed or detached piece of liner. Have you blown out the fuel lines with compressed air from carb end? Have you installed a piece of clear fuel line to check for a vacuum leak? Had a similar issue a few years back. Same...

    garmin gpsmap 2010c

I use a GPSMAP 2008 as backup. Bought mine new, but those units were discontinued and went unsupported @ 20 years ago. Requires an external, serial gps antenna or a NMEA 2000 network antenna to function. The power cable can be purchased from any Garmin dealer. Having said that, it’s been a...

View of unloaded trailer with pickups

Interesting…would would think they all work similarly. Ford has the dotted line but also has left and right track and zoom (ball) along with audible notification. Once close, hit zoom (on ball) and continue to back until beep, beep, beep becomes a solid tone when hitch is aligned with the ball.

Drive Tahoes and Burb’s for 20 years which forced the use side mirrors. Then had C5-7 fused 5 years ago. Turning around isn’t an option even now that we have the F150. They will pry hitch and backup assist from my cold dead hands….lol
