    04 Yamaha, Help w/Essential Gaskets/seals Powerhead Removal

Agree. I'm fairly sure it is the obvious gaskets that I've listed, but there's usually some hidden o-ring that shows up. I appreciate it

    04 Yamaha, Help w/Essential Gaskets/seals Powerhead Removal

That seems to be the response of many.... "get a manual" Thanks! Isn't it the purpose of these fourms for the 'non' to seek help, or seek advice from those who may have walked this path before? I have a manual, SELOC only and does not detail what i would need. I do not have the $$$$$$...

Good evening, I have my old '04 Yamaha F225 hp 4-stroke that I'm converting from a 30" shaft to a 25" for a friend that is buying it. I have to change out the mid-section shift rod and the powerhead has to be pulled. While I'm in there I am changing out the oil pump and wanted to provide a...

    Help with #1 cylinder location- 2007 df250

I appreciate it, just trying to confirm that the starboard head, top, is the #1 from what I'm narrowing it down to. The alignment dot on the crank is at the 12-o'clock, and the driven gear is matching. The starboard cyl. is just about at its' top travel with the alignment mark matching...

    Help with #1 cylinder location- 2007 df250

2007 Suzuki df250 4 stroke. I rebuilt heads from water entry from a failed gasket and upon rebuild. My manual makes reference to TDC, but does not display the cylinder firing order, or #1 cyl location. I don't want to assume, but certain that when facing the timing marks from the under side...

F225 Yamaha- Lower unit bolts (from 30 to 25)

I have an 04' LF225TURC 225hp outboard. I am mounting my 30" outboard on a Grady White fisherman and it needs a shorter (25") unit length. I'm planning to change the mounting bolts and trim the water tube on the motor. I've searched many online parts breakdowns and have not seen any part...

Help on Dash Gauges (Analog / SMG)

Hello, I am receiving conflicting info on dash gauges. I am buying an '07 Suzuki df250 for my Mako. A marine retail store in FL, is holding my order to be sure I have the correct gauge. I bought the SMG4 and they are saying that my '07 engine will only accept analog gauges, and that 2012 and...

    04 Yamaha LF225 4-stroke- "Oil leak"

Update, I finally got to tear into this. Can anyone help me determine if the top crankcase seal is raised up too much on it's own, or is this the way it sits? I haven't had the opportunity to install one yet and not sure how far down it seats. Thanks

    04 Yamaha LF225 4-stroke- "Oil leak"

Okay, will check it out. Interesting, have these seals moved in the past, or is common? given the amount of oil seen it makes sense. I'll get into it soon so I can see what's up. I appreciate it..

    04 Yamaha LF225 4-stroke- "Oil leak"

Correction: "I discovered that oil, a pretty good amount, is coated all over my motor and dripping from all over. The oil is central right around my CRANKshaft., just under the flywheel.

    04 Yamaha LF225 4-stroke- "Oil leak"

So, I ran my boat ('22 Mako) today and still taking 'maiden voyages' & dialing it in till I feel it's 'reliable'. I trolled for quite a while then took some wide open runs (45sec.) and then cruised around a little. I discovered that oil, a pretty good amount, is coated all over my motor and...

Prop Shaft "mid bearing" part number help

Good point. I'm in the middle of figuring that out. I'm a member of a few Mako groups and I remember a thread about "What's the best Prop". I'll have to search for it. Thanks for the heads up.

Exactly. I do appreciate all the efforts and comments back and forth to solve my issues and to bring forth my idiot-ness.. Any recommendations for a '22 Mako, like in my avatar? 17p, 19p?

Prop Shaft "mid bearing" part number help

Okay, I'm an idiot. Sorry, the back of my unit has an 'L' indicating a left-hand operation. I should have looked and knew to do this.
