1999 Johnson 200hp, Ocean Runner Lower Unit Hub

Well, did a side-by-side and replacement shaft was 1.74mm longer from the dog splines to the end of the forward gear on the shaft. AND the numbers did not match. Needed 436740, was given 435022- what the heck is that to?? 250hp?

    Not so welcome anymore....

I totally understand your point. I assume that most veterans/regulars that have over 8-12k+ posts usually have a pretty good understanding about which direction to point people. It's just helpful when they are strait you. Thx

The only thing that changed is the prop shaft. Everything else was original. Not sure why it whole assembly doesn't just slide in all the way and fit like it did. I cross referenced all the thrust washers and it all is in its' place. I'm gonna pull everything out again and double...

1999 Johnson 200hp, Ocean Runner Lower Unit Hub

No gears were replaced, but just the prop shaft. Everything is the same, the only replacement is the shim and the two o-rings on the hub. If I install just the gear assy leaving the shaft and pinion out, same issue.

Thanks for the reply.. 436740 OMC shaft was replaced. There are two thrust washers #30, and #44 on the prop shaft. I had spec'ed a .010 shim for the drive shaft showing #43 under the bearing housing. (Forward Pump) "Bearing Housing.. forward gear assy."

Just to clarify, the hub seems like it needs to go in 1/16", however it is installed all the way. Any advice? I would appreciate it.

I am replacing my prop shaft (bent) and upon re-install, my plates that help secure the hub in place are not sitting flush. I have pulled everything apart and reinstalled with the same results. When I snug down the bolts to secure the hub the prop shaft becomes tight and will not turn. I am...

    2010 Suzuki DF225TXX Chart Help

To be honest, I do not have a Suzuki manual. Yamaha is similar and looked it over in the 7-33-34 and talks about the backlash. I may have not been clear in my question but was referring to the pinion gear only not the upper bearing cage just under the oil seal cover. My Yamaha in comparison...

Good evening, I had posted some questions regarding a cracked pinion gear and have decided to purchase the gear set. New question: Attached is a list that shows shims for this engine on an on-line parts list for this particular engine. I will need to replace shim #7 that rides on the top of...

    Suzuki DF225 Pinion Gear source

I have a friends 2010 Suzuki DF225TXX lower unit that I'm rebuilding for him. It was pretty bad with some salt corrosion and the case had a crack by the hub. Through this process I had discovered that the pinion gear is cracked and looking to replace it and the pinion bearing as well. Is there...

    1970 Evinrude 18hp Trottle issue

Coil testing question on this motor. I have a multi meter and performed the following tests on the coils: and the lowest setting starts at 400 ohms. Disconnected and isolated each coil and was getting 000.6 from both primary wires. When I touched the spark lead and the black ground nothing...
