I apologize to the Bostonians who were offended by comments. :p

It's friendly rivalry from a guy born in Philly (the birthplace of the Nation, with more history and Colonial importance in one decade of history than Boston can.... blah blah blah... I got your Sam Adams right 'ere!)

But I still don't get all the Whaler love.

No offense taken...

I agree, nothing really happened up here in Boston, we just make beer here...

I'm by no means a Whaler owner or aficionado, but I can understand peoples love for them. Well made, and good at what they do, plus one of the only boats out there that you could slam into a jetty, and feel confident you would make it home after...

I am curious, has this ever happened before with the guy that posted the ad, joined the site to defend himself?

You folks realize Boston Whaler is a FL Company that's a subsidiary of an IL company, right? They have not been made in MA in decades...

Craigslist Ad -"Don't waste my time with junk mail/lowball offers; I have sold several cars and boats through eBay and Craigslist, I know what I'm doing on here"

Then states, "I know I'm not getting 14k, however its a starting place. If I get interest/someone makes an offer then I can use that information...."

I think what many people find a bit offensive is the Barking "Don't waste my time", then goes on effectively saying, "I'm happy to jerk you around for information...since it helps me".

The ad definitely earned the right to be tooled on.

Hmmm,

Buyer: What were you asking for it again?

Seller: $14,000

Buyer: Are you crazy, I wouldn't give you more than $5,000.

Seller: Ok, it's yours for $5,000....

You never know what will work when selling.

Buyer: Uh, I meant $3,000.

Seller: Ok, it's yours for $3,000

Buyer: <damn!>

(good one, bubba)
