The pivot pin screws through the outside of the skeg and into 47, right? If so then this is not the pin I'm talking about.

that looks like the drive pin for the prop...are you certain it came from inside the case..or maybe it feel from the propshaft without you noticing it?

The skeg was not fully off when it fell out, so unfortunately I do not know where it fell from. I did place the pin in that hole in the prop and it seemed to fit perfect. The pin was covered in oil so I also thought it would have come from inside the skeg somewhere. Although now it seems to be the prop pin. Inside the prop is a place the pin sits. See the pics below. Is this it???

i think ya got it. i read this thread and looked at all the links, couldnt see see where part #x fit into part #y, but now it looks right. and oil on that part/pin probably means you need a seal kit.

Ok, so 38 screws into the skeg and through 47. This I get - Pic

48 (Pin) is intact and has never moved. Pic

I placed the pin that fell out on 47 just to show it. Pic

Are you saying that there was a spare drive pin inside the lower unit?? Well, that's an interesting idea. I'll stash my spare drive pin in the lower unit, so I don't misplace it. :D:D LOL
