With a 40 it's more like cruise an hour, they aren't exactly "fuel efficient" motors. I don't personally know about referbing them, the ones I own are in good condition.

You can buy rebuild kits for them, but I think parts could be tough to find. There's not a whole lot to rebuilding them. You can try Seaway Marine, Engine Blade and Prop or even try posting an ad at the aomci.org website. Typically, they work pretty good, but occasionally, the little thumb pumps can go out. Other than that, there's just the o-rings on the connectors and the hoses that routinely need replacement. Harvey Marine, here in Oregon sells the twin line fuel lines by the foot, plus they also can be of help finding rebuild parts for those tanks.

I didn't think the 62 used a cruise a day pressure tank, pumps were on these motors. If they are pressure tanks you could rebuild them and sell them, just don't know if the poster is associating the 62 with pressure tanks.

A 1962 40hp uses a common, ordinary non-pressurized tank and hose with a squeezer bulb. Available everywhere, including here at iboats. Better than trying to clean one out that is rusted and cruded up inside. Run time at wide open throttle is about 1hr, 30-45 minutes. You might want to get two tanks and avoid that tow home from running out of gas.

Yea, you're right. What the hell was I thinking? 1959 and newer on those, to be exact. That's okay. This applies to all who have pressure tanks and there are lots of them among the members.:D:D

Well, in actuality it HAS two Cruise-a-Day tanks so now I know WHY!!!;) Thanks fof the info. They do NOT have pressure pumps on them just caps and fittings but the label says Cruise-a-day. I believe they just use the Squeeze bulbs. Guess I will just buy other tanks. I am kind of an "Original" type guy and like to "Restore" if and when possible, but I Do NOT like those middle of the Lake surprises like clogged carbs from rusty tanks.
Thanks for the input.

:D
