Congrats as well on the new crewman.....

It's never too early to get them started:

I would be "Drawn and Quartered" if another STARCRAFT came home with me...

Thanks, Guys,
I'm ecstatic about being able to show someone the Ropes/Lines of what I've learned.

The work on the 63 continues...

The steering wheel has been a PITA for three years and I decided it was time to take care of it. It rubbed the tray on the dash, wiggled, and was showing its age. I also didnt care for the black vinyl the previous owner glued to the dash.
I have been trying to gently remove it for years and took a sledge hammer to it last Thursday, about the fifth blow it popped off.

I used epoxy and Cab-o-sil to make the repairs.

Painted the wheel, removed the black vinyl, and carpeted the dash tray. I don't like the dark blue but its what i had on hand.
I remounted the cable system so it does not wiggle anymore. Readjusted the steering so the wheel is squared up when going straight and lubed everything.
She also got a new pitot system I found from Mastercraft Boats. Its a stainless steel unit.
I would like to leave the dash wood exposed. Any suggestions on what to cover the screws along the top of the dash with?

The current forum problems include trouble posting pix, if you used the attach, insert or upload pix to iboats 'feature', you might try using photobucket, I know it's been working:

Got $5K plus transport cost laying around? ^^^

So you're not able to see the pics on your end? It looks like they've posted from my view?

That's a great looking tinny! I wish I had more time to dedicate to boat repair right now

Copy & paste the IMG code from the pix in your photobucket acct. The code looks like this:
IMG]http://i421.photobucket.com/albums/7F053A56-2E5C-4C54-9FBB-6B57AF063DB1_zpsqqstwz1z.jpg[/IMG

And they show up IN your post:

Rarely has the pix failed to show up.

JB - Please post a pleasing example! That one hurts.

IMG code from PB is the way to go, bgc. It's the only way that works reliably.

It's BGC's wheel, I just copied the IMG code from his PB acct. The pic is posted back up there in post #66

But here it is after repair:

JB, Thank you for the help with the pics! Now I know how to post pics again. This new format will have a long learning curve for me.

TGP, Thank you for the complement. What part of the world are you in? I have a 1965 Merc 650(Panther Block) taking up space in the shop(central Ohio). If you need a parts motor.
