It was around $40/qt.

A qt. will cover 100-150 sq. ft. Needs to be used within 8 hours of mixing, I mixed a half-batch. Seems to have worked fine, no issues.

Nice, when I run out of what I have im gonna order some. Alittle pricey but a good brand.

Entertaining and educational, KRS would call it edutainment.:D

Taping stripes is a real challenge, and a good example goes a long way.

LOL,, Well i used pinstripe as a tape to make curves. I dont know if thats they actually do, but it worked for something simple.

Great video Azlo. Never really knew how to tape a curve. Look great! I hope you're paying your help union wages.

Dont "quote me on this video, but it worked!! Union Wages LOL.

So after painting my sides I noticed that im gonna have to go back & sand some runs. It seams I havent learned how to keep sags from happening.

Man Trying to get this thing moving so i decided to install my shoulders. Yes they have runs but I can still sand them on the boat.

By the way, i dont know if u guys notice but i keep cleaning my boat the leaves & branches that fall my dang tree above the garage. My tin stays in the garage but it seems everytime i take it out to work on it the tree drops its load!

You have just discovered the second rule of restoration... if tree nearby, he always wait for tin to drop his load into! Rule three: If paint still wet, even bigger load! :D

Your getting really close. Hope you survived the storms last night. It was pretty nasty just north of here. We just got rain at my house as far as I know.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW, spent the last 2.5 hours reading the progress. Makes me that more excited about mine, Just bought a 1968 starcraft hoilday with the 4 cyl. inboard. Going to pick it up this saturday, when I talked to the guy he said it need some interior work and a fuel pump. other then that everything else on it is ready to go. I paid 700.00 for it. Got a question for ya Az, what kind of in-line fuel pump did you get and how much? Anyway that is a great looking boat, probarly will do something similiar this winter after the seaon to mine, ,or finish the work on the houseboat. TOOO many projects

As confirmed by many - There is no greater or worthwhile endeavor than restoring a 1968 Stacraft Holiday I/O !!!!

Re: 1968 Holiday Restoration w/pics

Thanks for the info on the fuel pump. I hoping the filter in it is only clogged, but we'lll see. I have to find some of the photos of the houseboat. Its a 78 delta clipper 38', it has twin mercursiers 255. Replaced the decks last year.( I mean completely gutted them out and reframed and replwooded. Got some intrior work left to do downstairs and plan on redoing the fly bridge before i put her back in the water. Nice thing is that both engines and transmissions are in good working shape. Yeah my first experience with a i/o was the four winns 210 canadia. Had a 4.3 175, was a great boat untill i screwed up winterize it, and found the block had froze and cracked the next spring.:faceplam:(FOUND THE CRACK WHILE OUT ON OUR ANNUAL CAMPING TRIP) Had to be towed back in from the island. We camp on 18 mileisland on the ohio river, anyway iI'll get some pics loaded up here of my collection of boats

Re: 1968 Holiday Restoration w/pics

I finally had my VSR mailed. 140 amp continous 170 max. So I went ahead & cooked up my battery cables & hooked them up to the back. As you can see it only has 2 proms, 1 for the starter battery and the other for the acessory and the alternator and a ground wire.

MAH010211.jpg

Easy installation, connected both battery using ground. Thats the reason why some of my gauges wouldnt work. VSR on the transom .
