1974 Chrysler 10hp Gaskets

I have been fixing up a 1974 Chrysler 10hp motor over the past couple of months - basically "hacking at it" an hour here and an hour there. I had to pull the powerhead off of it to remove and free up a frozen swivel assembly, so I now need to replace the base gasket for the powerhead. There are actually two - one is rubber and is still ok, and one is paper and needs to be replaced. I've surfed here at iboats a bit, as well as on the net in general, and haven't found a source for one. Sierra does carry some older Chysler gaskets but doesn't seem to have what I need.

Any suggestions by those of you who are Chrysler gurus will be appreciated! In fact, I'm probably going to find myself fixing a few other things, so if you know of a source for a "gasket kit," that would be great too.

Good luck on them gaskets. All the sources I have show either no longer available or they only go down to a 35 HP chrysler. Try either chrysler crew or the marine doctor. Maybe one of them can help you.

Thanks for reminding me about the Chrysler Crew. I'm still a neophyte when it comes to Chyslers (I own a bunch of older OMCs) so I had forgotten about them. I looked again and found the link to Franz's Marine, so I will call them on Monday to see if they have anything.

Franz is the man! Spoke to him a couple of times this week and he has the gaskets that I need, plus a few things that I might need as the project progresses.

This is a very nice guy who knows his stuff and has what you need if you need Chrysler parts!
