what about facing the top with diamond plate or just any 1/8-1/4" thick alum plate?
I thought about that...but figure that stuff is probably expensive.
Bonairll, what are you going to do with the bow rails?
Got the TM mounted. It's def a behemoth. Only real issue I have with it is the head orientation. I need to rotate it a bit to get the steering cable to hang in a better position. Anyone know how to do this?
If it's the older cable set up. If you loosen the knob where the shaft is held you can spin the whole unit to the position you want. It may cause the pedal to bottom out. If you need to change the motor to head orientation remove the top cover, 4 screws. Pop off the chain and rear sprocket. Spin the motor to where you want it in the deployed position. Get the head where you want it, re-install the chain with the chain centered, cable mounts equal on both sides. The petal should be at it's center point. Test in the stored position and adjust as required.
I'm also going to wire the bilge pumps to my TM battery in the bow. I don't want to take the chance of running my main battery down...if I need to pump out large amounts of water.
Just pondering this..... ......thought the goal of rebuilding was to make a dry boat.![]()

Yup...I was hoping for a dry boat also, but I've got a large leak(s) somewhere. Been having to run the bilge pump a few times while out on the water lately. Quite a bit of water getting in somewhere.
Going to inspect the bottom of the boat to look for obvious holes etc.....if no joy, then I'll have to stick my head in the bilge to see if I can see where the water is coming from.
Today, I finally got a chance to run her WOT. Water wasnt flat, but was decent. Got her up to 36mph. That's pretty decent since last season....I hit 36mph only once...and that was for about 5 secs. And now the boat is a tad heavier with gear, heavier Trolling motor etc.
The CMC TNT is def a welcome addition.
