Please forgive the stupid question, but I have very little previous experience, and no User Manual.

How do I increase the throttle while in neutral for starting and warm up? On my old controls there was a separate lever. On this one, there is a "Throttle" button, which I presume is to disengage the gear shift from the lever, but when I press it and move the lever, it just goes into gear. Is something wrong with my controls or with me?

Are there any on-line schematics of the controls? On-line user guide that covers control-related stuff like starting procedure, trimming, etc.?

You should be able to push that button and throttle up without it going in gear. Are you sure it is going in gear? The prop will spin a bit even in neutral due to friction inside the gearcase. If it is actually "thunking" into gear then you have an issue inside the control box.

I have the same control, with mine after I depress the botton I have to move it to the rear as if shifting into reverse and then go forward. Got that information on this site last year as my previous control also had a fast lidle lever, and I was having the same problem you are.
