2000 4.3 gm

A friend of mine has a 2000 merc gm v6 4.3 and he said that his left side exhaust is hotter then his right....

He sucked up some sand n his motor overheated n melt the flappers n rubber, but he already replaced and flush the whole system.... He has the old one peace exhaust...,

Depends on how hot and how much difference. On muffs, or at idle in the water it's normal for one side to be warmer than the other, but they even out when load in the water.

Ayuh,... Don is of course, Absolutely Right,...

But, I'll add, that those manifolds are a Time Bomb waitin' to Destroy yer bud's motor....

They were Junk when New, 'n unlike fine Scotch, they ain't gettin' better with time...

so i told him and he said that it started when he over heat the boat. but anyways he is oing to get the new ones anyways so lets see.. oh but i was reading somewhere that if he gets the new exhausts he might need a new t-stat housing???

No need for a new thermostat housing, just plumb it in just like the single piece. The new ones will be 2 piece, but he will also need a kit as the exhaust Y is different.
