Hi
I have a 2010 Sea Ray 185 with a 4.3L Mercruiser MPI and THis is my problem

I drained the engine with the round blue dial (quick drain) that apparently drains the block and manifold all in one swoop. I also removed the blue plug at the bottom above the orange drain hose and also on the thermostat housing. i removed the 2 hoses going to the manifold and the big block hose. i filled the big hose up till antifreeze came out the housing, reattached. no problem. here's where it's a little strange....
I filled up the other 2 manifold hoses off the therm housing which go to the bottom of the manifolds... isn't the anti freeze suppose to come out the outdrive?? I can't seem to figure out where the main water in take is going to so i can put a/f down it so it comes out the drive? It comes in and runs to the port side of the engine at the back... how do I get anti freeze to go out the out drive when it isn't with filling the 2 hoses???

thanks...

Spunkyman, your engine may have a check valve downstream of the PS cooler which may prevent af from going back towards the outdrive inlet water holes. You should see AF coming out of the exhaust outlet on the sterndrive via the exhaust manifolds. Hopefully some others will chime in and confirm. My engine is 2008 and that is what I observed. Provide your S/N to confirm which cooling system you have.

You are correct, He will have the check valve.

Depending on what drain system he has will determine where the valve is located.

Standard Cooling System(Seven Point Drain) See # 13.

Standard Cooling System(Single and Three Point Drain) See # 2.

Thanks Guys....
I think it all drained out the SINGLE easy drain system, just wanted to make sure with that done, that I am good for winter, as I am use to just putting AF down the intake hose that comes off the thermostat housing right to the drive.... My only concern is that there isn't water in there somewhere to freeze and do damage ! Can't find any other valves or drain options....
