225 ocean pro (won't start)

Hello. So new boat owner here. Have a 225 ocean pro. Drained fuel out before three months of sitting for winter. Turned the fuel swith back open, had a fully charged battery, thought I primed the bulb, chocked and turned key. Nothing. Time after time. Went and bought new battery. So I did notice the bulb got super tight after like 2 pumps. Which is telling me something isn't letting me get fuel to the motor I am guessing. I also drained fuel water separator and everything looked good. And can see the fuel being pumped into the fuel filter in the motor.
So my question is before I pull it out the water and take it to a mechanic could anyone suggest anything to try? (I am still to new to this to be playing mechanic to much on the water.) I was going to pull a plug and see if it is dry or has fuel on it and if not trace it back from there. I will be going by the marina in a couple hours and would really appreciate any advice. Am really hoping it is a simple issue or something I could replace in the water. Thank you in advance.

Sorry. Could have been more specific. I had a buddy come check it out last night. We cleaned and adjusted plugs. It just isn't getting fuel to the motor. Going to go this afternoon and try a few more things. I know fuel is getting to filter but doesn't seem like it's going past that. The bulb is still getting tight after one pump. We tried starter fluid. No luck. The plugs were wet but I personally think it's from the wd40 I sprayed in when I drained fuel out of motor a few months back. Again I am no mechanic. My neighbor is an older gentleman and has worked on small engines for years but doesn't know much about johnson/evinrudes. I am trying to find him a manual to look at now. Thanks again for any help.

And the motor is turning it's just not firing. There has to be a blockage somewhere in my opinion. You think it could be the fuel shut off? I took the top off and the gasket looked fine to me.

deleted after last post ..clarifying that starter does turn
well starter fluid should have done something... how's the 20 amp fuse
does T&T work
can you check for sparks
any lainyard safety pulled out ?

see older diagram example ... fuse feeds T&T and... ignition on that version
try to check all connector points for loose or oxydized connections (pull apart clean & reconnect)

My buddy said he should have thought about checking for sparks. It was getting late and he's an older fella but we're gonna try in a couple hours. We also did not check the fuse which I will do when I get there. It wanted to fire the first time I turned it. Looks like fuel is getting to filter but only fills up like two thirds. Just bubbles and of course gets tight after a pump. I also noticed a very small amount of gas come out of the fuel shut off switch when I turned it a certain direction. Noticed it on my fingertip. Think it could be that component?

That is not a recent picture by the way. It was taken when I winterized it a few months ago. I say that because the fuel filter isn't that full now.

That thing with the red lever is the primer valve.---The red lever is for manual operation of the valve.----The red lever should be in line with the valve body for running.----This primer valve replaces old time choke flapper plates.----Check it and make sure the primer valve is opening when pushing the key in !

could be just the photo ... but the fuel looks yellowish

may not be an issue but do you know how fresh it is or was.... was it stored with fuel saver additives for long term storage.

Motor has or still has issues electrically as someone indexed flywheel looking for a problem. Also look like a gasket leak. The 20amp fuse only controls 12v sources such as gauges ,starter and trim as the 12V off solenoid goes direct to rectifier not pack. Diagram is misleading...

thanks for info

diagram was specified to be an example only and a possible source of problem .. in latest pict (DINGBAT) fuse is shown to feed 12v to the trim switches. Yes I agree main 12v high current feed is directly connected to relays yet T&T control switches are fused . Hence my question ...does t&T work

You drained the fuel in the winter and then refilled with fresh gas before attempting to start it?

Did you drain the fuel out of the carbs or were they left full of fuel over the winter? If left full, the fuel could have gelled and clogged your carbs.

Can you hear the primer solenoid clicking (activating) when you push the key in?

Check for spark. Check that the safety lanyard is properly connected.

Safety lanyards are a navigation hazards. Engine is designed to run without.
Have not used mine since neethe
Not sure I follow....without my lanyard connected, I get no spark and motor wont run/start.

Some folks bypass the lanyard.-----That might be frowned on by some agencies like Coast Guard.

Okay. Thank you. I will check that as well when I get there. The fuel may be that
