Has anyone ever separated the Thompson Hard top? Seems to be some kind of filler in the middle, been chiseling away... kinda sucks. It is put together like some boat hulls, male bottom, female top the rubrail screws hold together. The filler only in a few places.. is kicking my( insert bayliner reference here) I know need pics.. They will come. :)

I have an admission of a screw up. While popping fuel tanks in and out to get an idea of what I had to do, I kinda let the 60 gal tank fall. Not on purpose... looks like she cracked a weld. A plus.. The community gets to see how I weld an aluminum tank without sploding.Just what I need, 1 more task on a tight timeline...

First final vac and interior scrub after grinding Complete. I went ahead and used Toilet bowl boat brightener on the exterior while I was playing with the pressure washer. De greased with the purple power. While letting it sit with the blowers running to get dried out, I patterned the transom using the Popsicle stick and hot glue method. Worked pretty good! 10 oz glass on the aft side of the transom wood, Glued 2 3/4" panels together with thickened epoxy. Clamped with drywall screws. I will be removing them tomorrow and filling holes with PB then a layer of 17 oz Bi ax. Going to use thickened epoxy to glue in transom. With or without 1/4" chopped fibers? What do you think? I also picked up another parts boat. The fuel tank is 64 gallon and will fit in same location. Trim tabs, 5.7 mercruiser parts, tandem axle trailer, 3 blade s/s prop... all kind of good parts. The seats ( helm and nav) need recovered, not sure I want to tackle that or send them out. If you need parts from a Regal Valanti, let me know before I send her to the boat heaven in the ground.

Sorry for no updates, been busy working on a boat. Stringers are done, transom is done, mounting fuel tanks now. Deck is all cut and getting glassed on the bottom. Had a few days worry after I bought fuel lines ( Fill, Vent, and supply) from Discount Marine Supplies. Best price by far, ordered the read the google reviews, Long week of waiting but all came in as ordered. Picked up a low hour southern ( no cracked block or manifolds :) ) 1990 5.7 Merc full dress. Saw it run on the floor, only 170 hours. Gimbal rebuild parts are on the way. Almost done taking parts off the Regal 24' donor boat, headed to the dump soon so I can use the trailer. I have been taking pics along the way and will try to post soon. I have a self inflicted deadline of1 April for first launch... got alot left to do. All the colored gel has been wetsanded and first buffing done. Rubrail is reinstalled.

Question: I need to replace the window guides on the side sliders. They are the fuzzy type ( not sure of the correct term). I cannot get them to come out. Anyone have any idea how Thompson attached these buggers? Next try will be soften possible adhesive with a heat gun and try to pull out. Open for all suggestions.

I also have the nav computer built. Running open plotter on a Raspberry pi4. will have 2 displays , a 10 or 12 " at the helm and a 16" at the nav seat. Cannot wait to get that on the water.

And . for those curious, 7 Gallons Epoxy used so far. 4gal of Cabosil and a tub of 1/4" chopped fibers. Not sure how much 10 oz or 17 oz biax is used so far. A lot of 1 qt mix cups and many popsicle sticks and paint stir sticks gone. On 3rd box of gloves and second gallon of acetone.
