First of all, I would like to thank a guy on another forum that gave me the true ansewer to my problem on replaceing this pump #16792A39, at an autoparts place. This the ansewer: 1990 chevy 2500 pickup, 350CI, 7200#.
I called Advanced Auto Parts to see if they had one, they did. I had already taken my off the boat (What a Pain) so I toke it to them to match it up. Sure enough it was the same except the return line was a little longer. This is how it read on the reciept.
PS PUMP-RMFD FENCO #18710201 $49.99:)
They helped me (with their tool retail that I did not pay for) pull the pulley off and press it back on as well as the removing the studs and putting them back on.
This pump is $587.67 from Mercruiser.

So, what's your question? Your post and poll make no sense. It appears you already have the part located and the problem fixed

Sorry for the confussion, my posting was for anyone else that has this problem. There is a little more to this them just getting the pump. You also have to modify the mounting bracket by cutting away some of it. The return hose location is in a different location which interferes with the bracket. The bracket has so many mounting and sliding bolts removing some of it does not matter. Job done and it works great.
See the attached picture below.

PS: I have also started the engine and it works:D

Re: 4.3 LX Mercruiser Power Steering Pump

First thank you for the great information. I went to Advanced auto parts today to follow the same process and cut my bracket...... but while looking for the replacement pump we came across an "85 impala 5.7 Carburetor" in the system look up, power steering pump without reservoir. I purchased the unit and took it to my local shop where they swapped the pump for me for 40.00. no bracket cutting required. The cost of the pump was 39.00

If not for the previous post this would have cost 650.00 plus at the local boat parts house.
