Re: 60 Degree Eagle

If you have one single carb for each cyl, that's a 60 * eagle.

Re: 60 Degree Eagle

they 60 degree eagle didnt come out in V4 configureation until 1995. they offere 90 and 115 hp models. later they offeres some other hp ranges.. like 105. not 100% sure about any other hp's.

the 60 degree loopers had OIS ignistions only, I THINK...not 100% sure about that , either..

the easiest way to describe one is if you take the cover off and can see the flywheel...it is a 90 degree motor....NOT a 60 degree looper( you can actually see the flywheel on a 60 degree eagle motor , even with the motor hood off)

but they made 90 degree loopers and 90 degree crossflows... maybe not in the same HP range...a s well as the 60 degree"eagle" motors

its just describes the V angle of the piston bores in the block...

soo. if you have a 1989 90 hp...it is certainly NOT a 60 degree V motor

Without a model # we really can't tell what he has.

Re: 60 Degree Eagle

I only have 2 carbs and the flywheel is right on the top of the engine so I assume I dont have a 60 degree. But I do have a blown headgasket!

Compression on both holes left side was 120 and both on right were around 90. Sooooo I was hoping it was just a head gasket.

That's a good one. Just make sure you resurface the head before putting it back on.

I think I'm going to go ahead and replace the other side gaskets as well. I assume the other must be close to blowing or with my luck it will next week! I wonder if I glue a sheet of sandpaper to a piece of steel wider than the head and rub the heads on it if that would resurface them?

A thick piece of glass would work better and when you do it, run the head in a figure 8 pattern.

My father in law owns a glass business he dropped me off a piece of 3/8" x 16 x 16 piece of tempered glass... this should work!
