How can I tell the difference between a blown head gasket and bad compression due to a worn cylinders and worn rings ? What are the signs of a blown head gasket vs worn cylinder and rings. I am experiencing 1/3 RPM at WOT (Only under load) and I have checked the fuel lines, fuel pump and cleaned the carbs, but still no luck. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks

A Jhonson? I think I've heard of that. That's that knock-off outboard engine from China right? :)

Have you taken the compression? what are the #'s? Have you taken the head off? How does it look inside? are they scores or any marks on the cylinders? If in doubt you could simply buy a new head gasket for $25 or whatever it is and try it out.
