Make sure you're safety chains are bolted (not welded) on to the trailer with good bolts. Welds can and will fail, so can fasteners so replace if in doubt.

Insurance is a good investment. Where is a good place for boat insurance? I was planning on using State Farm, they insure my cars and home all ready.

I have State Farm as well but the asked for a marine survey before they will even touch it. I had spoken to several dedicated marine insurer's are they did not require one and were puzzled why Sate farm needed one fir a tin boat???

He knows that the boat was stored in the garage for 20 years as he used to insure the boat back in the day.

Cheap boat is correct..... Fuel handing hoses (filler and vent) on boats have a coast guard rating. Is is stenciled on the hoses. It can be bought on line by the foot. I would tell you where I got mine but I have been scolded before for mentioning other vendors of this site. Understandably, but I only know where I got mine. If you ever have to go through a coast guard/boat inspection, the inspectors will look for the fuel/fire rating on the hoses. Could rune your weekend plans it they don't find it.

yah, i was being a smartaze. but someone really did use PVC....kinda weird as the rest of the boat is very professionally done, even has an automatic halon extinguisher in the engine bay. i just ordered the correct hose yesterday. and in the meantime, nothing in the fuel tank has resembled gasoline in many many years. i can hardly wait to flush that sludge out

TheWrks, I hope the leak test went well. This weather is something else, but at least gives us more time to work on the boats this spring:)

Looking forward to seeing your Holiday on the water this summer:D
