Looks good troop!!! I got a package today!!!!:D Want me to check out the Morse SM?? I still haven't went to look at it but I did call her and it's still there.

Hey SP...I just flipped it long enough to get some glass over the boards...don't want them getting wet..then flipped her back over...maybe get the hull done this weekend...but I have concerns with the pressure pot...next post...

Pressurepot questions...

So I picked the pot up from HF...got the 1 yr warranty....

Took it Sunday and filled with water...wanted to see how my compressor would handle it...

For starters...the Fluid Control knob was hard to turn, but I assume it is either open or closed...no fine tuning?

Next the Air regulator...I could not see any difference on the gauge no matter which direction I turned it...I assume screwing it in raises the pressure in the pot? The safety Valve worked, like every 3 seconds it went off...again, regardless if which direction I set the regulator.

Then comes the spraygun...

Pattern control knob only turned about 1/16th of a turn if that...I would think it should turn a little more? The rod was bent...was hard to get it lined up after tearing it down to see how it all worked...

The Fluid control knob turned like it should, but again, the rod was bent badly...is this common?

I also had a stream coming from the aircap...where the rod should cover the nozzle.

Air leaks all over this setup..from the regulator, the trigger...all hose connections...I even used teflon tape everywhere...

Also water leaked from the fluid inlet on gun... thinking I got a lemon and need to return it for a new try...opinions?

Absolutely, returned the sooner the better. And asap test the replacement. Is it a online mail order, or a drive to the HF store? mail order I'd have to think carefully before accepting a replacement.......

Does that paint site WOG posted w/ the $99 3 pack paint gun set sell a pressure pot?

I can't remember the site off hand, but I have it bookmarked I think. TSR sounds about right, but not quite it..

EDIT: It's TCP Global, and yep they've got a few pressure pots & have 1 pressure pot priced the same as HF

So I have been thinking about things that happened this past weekend..I was washing down with acetone to prep for glassing he blocks in....and saw some dirt on the deck gel...that I had applied with a roller...the last coat had wax....and if you recall it took weeks to not be tacky....well the gelcoat was washing off with acetone! So now I am worried I have to wash it all off before it comes time to reapply...sprayed with PVA this time around, not relying on wax as it has failed me...could have been the application method I suppose...

Man, that's a drag, I'd probably PM YD & oops, give them all the details ya can & link your thread, see what they say. I don't know much about gel :redface:, but I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be coming up w/ acetone

That doesn't sound good at all. I would really like to hear what YD, Ondarvr or OOPS would have to say.
Hope it all works out without you doing it all over again. Maybe you can ruff and scuff and put a new coat over it with the pva.

Have you picked out seats and fabric yet? The wife and I narrowed it to 4 different styles, and I am going to pay my mom to sew the seats, she has a heavy duty sewing machine and some free time. She also has friends who used to be in the upolstery business who have graciously donated whatever vinyl they had left that I may need. I have 7 bolts of fabric to match with swatches.
