What size prop do you have? Are you trimming it down far enough? Have you tried redistributing your weight on the boat (maybe put the cooler and anchor in the front). I use the hydrofoil on mine and have no problems planing at all. You may lose a couple of MPH, but the way it makes your boat ride is well worth it.<br /><br />As far as the Humminbird, most of the LCD units have a contrast control. I have the Humminbird LCR 4000 and you can adjust it based on light conditions.<br /><br />Also, check their website.
