Re: 74 lund and tilt trailer

Looking good coinman, almost there!

My trailer sits a bit higher than yours. The easy answer 1st. Raise the engine before you launch it and do make sure you have the drain plug in! If the water is deep enough to float it off the trailer you can leave it down. The setup should be ok to travel with the engine down as it looks like there is enough clearance, otherwise I did see some adjustment to the trailer were you could raise the boat a hole higher with the rollers. Next I see a second set of holes in the bar for the rollers to were they could be moved inboard from where they are. You would have to check that if you did that, that the rollers will not contact the keel or the strakes under the boat.

Hey bonz_d, i see what you mean about the roller adjustments to make it higher from the ground surface, that makes a lot of sence, I'll just go up one hole to start with and try it that way. I thank you for your common sence method of thinking about these things. I guess i could'nt see the forrest for the trees, but i,m learning. Thanks for the help. I'm looking forward to getting the registration paper work, so i can get the trailer tags and take it to the big pond, won't be long now, I'll be sure to post the splash down pics :)

Re: 74 lund and tilt trailer

:)I'm past antsy, but going back to the summer time job has slowed down the launch alittle. My wife got the trailer tags 2 days ago, so since it's saturday and i've got all weekend to the little boat project, i believe i'll get the side poll things back on the trailer and install the new light kit i got this week. i still got to install the safety chains on the trailer and design a way to mount the spare tire on the trailer. the way it was mounted before was foolish, not only were the treads on the very large u-bolt rusted up, the length was 3 or 4 times longer than needed and no way to lock it up.But all and all it should be next saturday launch day, I don't know what the weather is like in your neck of the woods this week, but in arkansas we had our share of storms and doggone it, it turned off cool again, it's 7:00 am , and i'm out in the shop with the heater on.Thats another reason i,m not going to launching this weekend. By the way that picture thing is pretty neat- thanks again for the help!!! talk to ya later :),
