I figured this would happen...
Last year for Christmas, I got stocked up. 1,000 rounds of 9MM frangible ammo, another 1,000 rounds of FMJ 9MM, 1,000 rounds of 30-30, 1,000 rounds of 30-06. I have tons of rounds of .22, for plinking, .22s are my favorite. And I've got a sizeable stash of 16g and 12g.
All told, probably almost 5,000 rounds in the house.
I didn't buy it because I was worried about anything, I bought it because I got a good deal on it. And if I bought bulk quantities, it was cheaper than buying a box every time I went to the range.
When I had a box, I felt the need to go through all 50 rounds at a time at the range, now, I'll bring 30 or 40 rounds. Shoot and go home.
EDIT: I should also add, where I'm at, there's ammo everywhere. It's still not too expensive, a little more... But people might be stocking up to protect themselves and their possessions.
Crime has gone up in a lot of areas with the times being what they are. Personally, I have a 9MM in my house ready to go. But you can steal whatever I have, I don't care, it's insured. My gun is for the protection of myself and The Girlfriend.
It's never worth shooting anyone or anything over possessions. Just my opinion, though.
...The only reason that I can think of a thing like this happening is that the "Secret Sons of the Confederacy" are planning another try at secession and they are stocking up on ammo for their artillery.
Easy people...... I understand how strongly we may feel but if this becomes a thread about revolution it will be locked up.
No pointing fingers....
No political comments....

There is a war on; could some of the shortage be related to higher demand from the military?
it's hard to keep something that 'is' political non-political, people are scarfing up on ammo before the bill takes affect adding $5.00 per pound and 500% increase on tax , and the mandatory serial numbers (encoded ammunition) on casings which will also increase the price.
Some states are adding to that .05-.50 per round and 100%-200% hike on ammo for "personal use"
Could you direct me to that bill, or a website where it is. And as far as the serial number encoded ammo, that's a case of "the sky is falling" if I've ever seen one. Please give me a reference to that if you can, other than paranoid posts of all the chicken littles.
Hr 45 is one, go to the NRA site and search 'Encoded Ammunition' and read away, it's too easy to find the rest for me to do your footworkCould you direct me to that bill, or a website where it is. The problem is you don?t have time to find out if they are only in your house to steal or harm you!
If you step foot in my house uninvited your DEAD! Plane and simple, no discussion, no questions, no second chance, simply DEAD.
By the way this goes for my boat to!![]()
