what type anchor do you use. and do you use 1 or 2. and if using 2,front and back opposite sides? im right now just using 2 twelve pound angle iron.
im sorry, should of been more specific. 16-19 ft aluminum jon style. mine is a smokercraft 1860. i think im dragging the angle iron around the clay bottom. even though i have two and their around 12-15 pounds.
IT IS RECOMENDED TO USE 4-6 TIMES THE WATERS DEPTH IN ANCHOR LINE WHEN ANCHORING
bob
60-100' depth, you lines are too short. You want a 7-1 scope in normal conditions and 10-1 in heavy weather/waves.

sereiously now..too short???..i am fully aware of the 7 to rule but...im not out in the seas with a 40' sailboat or anything. im in an 18' fiberglass fishing boat only to anchor a few hours at a time, not mooring overnight or days on end...where i anchor in 60' of water a 300' line is more than exceptable considering im not even 100-150 yards max off shore! the stern anchors are shorter for the reason they are dropped straight down only to hold from spinning in circles.... and my depths mentioned whether properly equiped or not were only givin as an example as too how* the anchors i use work for me...
on another note...if you look i actually have 700' of anchor line on board, therefore if it came down to any condition where i would need to properly* anchor in an emegency or any other reason i do have enough!
i have been occasionally approached and/or inspected by more than one sherriff patrol on the water and they where more than impressed with my equipment for the water i fish in.... that being said,
(this thread was started only to inquire what type anchors were used by fellow boaters)
i love this site... the information here is amazing!!!
