Just bought it tonight - a Starcraft, I believe a 1960 as the name plate says: 14- bonanza. 60-264 serial. It has a 40hp Evinrude on it. I have looked around on this site but haven't found any pics of how it should look - where should I be looking? I know - I will upload pics as soon as I can.
thanks, Steve

Thats a new one to me. Nothing on Google either. If the info exists somewhere in the world it will probably be found here.

Welcome aboard!

Welcome Redrover. Since you are aware about the pic requirement, I won't pick on you....yet.:p
If there is anyplace that can tell you the model of your boat it is here. Just show us the pics of the stern, interior etc and trust me, someone will know.:D

Re: and another new owner

Well,I took pics tonight. 'had a slight problem with the new computer. I downloaded the pics using a program I never heard of. Then I tried to find them & finally did. I deleted them & was going to download them with another program - my chip is empty - it deleted them right off of it. My old computer would not have done that:( Tomorrow I will try again.

I'm going to assume it's an aluminum boat? We have the fiberglass brochure for 60 and it's not shown there.

These pics should be interesting.

RR, most guys use Photobucket to help post pics. There is a thread to help you.
I heard some noise arlier that sounded a lot like guns being loaded. CB has his pitchfork and I am sure there will be an axe sharpening party soon. Better get the pics soon.

Bonanza model eh? never heard of it. I mean that in a good way.:D

There are some rare Starcraft models out there and they are great to see when they pop up.;)

Photos will help us out, as far as getting more info, as mentioned by the unruly mob that has gathered in honor of your boat.

Jason you know that potato salad doesn't keep well:p Dale is bringing ribs this time around in case we have to pull an all-nighter again:D

Sorry, I had to eat the potato salad:D
I do have some finger food left.
The last guy didn't know how to use a camera, so I figured he didn't need them.

Re: and another new owner

here you go.
well, so far I haven't learned how to upload these pics. Can I email them to some for now so some pics can get posted? I have tried several times to follow the instructions listed in the rules & I get stuck at the end every time. I'll sign up on photobucket & do it that way but until then if some one could load them for me it would be great.

Re: and another new owner

thanks Charlie, I hope this settles that lynch mob back down. Overall the boat seems in pretty good condition. It looks like the seats were moved a couple of times. Right now I am thinking of putting a swivel seat of some sort in all four corners & try to keep the center area open. Right now I am fishing out of a 1957 Lonestar with 3 bench seats in it & I am tired of stumbling over those all of the time so I am going after a little more open look. The windshield I believe is a replacement. There are faint wear marks from one being 6 -8 inches farther back.

Not a problem, I didnt want to get my pitchfork bloody anyways :D. Take a look at my Falcon restore, think its got the same setup you want for you seats. That motor looks to be about the same vintage mine was.... early 60's.

Re: and another new owner

I did look through your pics & that is very close to what I have in mind. I have brackets mounted on the sides that held the bench seats. I thought of just mounting a 20" board to each one with a leg going down for support. That would leave me about 18" between seats. Then I would mount a swivel seat on top of that. The boat could be taken back to original if someone later on so desires too.

Re: and another new owner

Your idea would work, and its keeping it simple. Plus your boat has more of a rounded bottom on it, would be hard to put a full floor in and then add a seat over to the right enough to line up with the wheel, your floor would be so high youd be out of leg room to make it nice to drive....... if that makes sense.
