Re: Any roofers in the house?
lakeman is right, I spent quite a bit of time on job sites as both general contractor and subbed out as a painting contractor (dad was a good worker, but not too good at bossing, I like working, but love bossing way better, LOL)(however, I do find being a boss means working twice as hard if you have a conscience!)

Roofers use as few nails as possible, and WILL sneak a one shooter in there if possible, dont forget, low bid usually wins the game, and who goes on the roof to check it out? "Shoemakers" of all sorts, regardless of experience, consider themselves roofineg experts, mostly due to the relative technical ease of the project - a ladder and roof jack are all you really need, well, that and a hammer, utility knife and a wonder bar to take the old roof off ... (hehehe .. and chalk line, tin snips, and oh yeah, youll prolly find out your brick chimney needs repointing, but that is a whole nother thread) this aint rocket science folks, if its more than two roofs, usually the township will REQUIRE that your tear off the old roof, not too tough to do, but it opens a whole new can of worms ... cuz once you tear that roof off, you have to either haul yer azz and get that new roof ON, or get some tarps and be aware that summertime brings t storms, rain with WIND (and lighting bolts, holy tallest object batman!)

my dad would put a dab of roofing seal (read: TAR) on each nail, I would tell him its completely unneccessary, but he loved redundancy

homerr, if you are in good shape and reasonably sharp, have common sense and some handyman skills, its really nothing to it

measure TWICE

cut ONCE
