Ordered from them the begining of last week as I cannot find clear surfboard resin which I need to apply logos and designs on my products. They had exactly or say what I need and the price was right for a gallon and so was the shipping. However never got a email confimation, but the amount 3 days later debited from my account, still not email. So I wrote today and it has not even been shipped!! I am furious. I have orders to fill and now pretty much screwed when I could of got it elsewhere but was more money and I had to drive as its a small surfboard shop they do not ship. The problem is finding surfboard resin without wax, preferrably Isothalic but Ortho is okay and used mainly as its cheaper and does have a little more filer. But both work for me. I make my own finishing resin.

The salesgirl was awesome and knew what I was talking about but whoever owns this company needs a wake up call. You just don't leave people hanging like that not email no delay letter no confimation nothing.

Received my resin today that was ordered on the 12th, money taken out on the 13th and shipped on the 16th so figure it out. The can was damaged, the top was on so tight had to take it off with pliers as it was so sticky probably as I was shorted a easy three inches out of the gallon. I called of course as usual no one there and left a tasty message for the Owner Chris. I have been in this industry for 50 plus years and the instructions on how much surfacing agent to use is even incorrect saying two ounces per gallon, suppose to be one ounce. So I went online to the BBB which they belong and plan on filing a complaint but 2 people have beat me to it but going to file no matter.

These people have no clue how to run a business, nor do they seem to care. Have no ethics take your money and do what they want and short you on your product. The resin I need can be obtained many other places my luck of the draw was I unfortunately went with these less than competent and professional people. Do not even go there with these people bad news all the way around. They lost a big company and do not even know it as I would of stayed with them for all my needs.

I have to thank you for your posts and honesty. There are a few moderators who are amazed on how quickly people will steer people to uscomposites and we normally suggest iboats first and strongly encourage people to shop around. As an example there is a resin company near me in the next state over in NH that sells resins and I have found them quite good and honest.

Possibly this will slow people down from recommending people with poor customer service and business habits.

Sorry for your bad experiences and I hope it all works out.

Keep that in the back of your minds next time you see someone recommend them and encourage the people to shop around.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately Iboat does not have what I need "Clear Surfboard Iso or Ortho Surfboard resin but there are others I am going to be calling. One here in Oregon but the price is doubled for what it is going for elsewhere. Silmar has been around for years I did not use their resin as it was known as the cheapest but poorest quality in the market but I have to say one the resin I did get from Illstreet (Silmar) is the best resin I have seen in my years in the industry so far. Nice if it would of all been there however, and very lucky after having to force the cap off it I was able to get it back on.

It is important to shop around as sadly boards are now being made in molds and the day of hand layups and rubbing out are almost gone. Thank you for having a place so others can make a informed decision before having to go through what I did. Bob
