Wow! I can get Indoor Outdoor 12-2 gauge Romex here in Okie Land for about $1.10 a foot. If your existing panel has room for another circuit breaker you could snap in a 20 amp breaker and run the romex above ground for a week while you're painting and then disconnect and coil it back up.

What I'm looking at is either 8-3 or 10-3 and running it from a two pole breaker in the main panel to a sub in the garage so I can add a 15amp 240v line.

Yeah that would be more expensive but as a temporary you could use the 12-2 like a big extension cord and then use it for wiring in the new Garage when the time comes. Just a thought.

3M scotchbrite her down while she was wet to knock off any nubs in the paint, then wiped her down with a damp 50/50 mix of MS/Acetone wet the floor back down and then shot another coat.

I dunno about using acetone on primers .. but if it works then it works.

I think you guys are Overthinking this.

Prep the Best that you can prep ... Ok Done ! ..

Now your ready to blow on some Paint .. Ok you have Your PPE .. and your all watered down in your garage. What about the peeps down the street from you ?

I have suggested this in another thread a long time ago. .. What about the other families next door or down the street ?

You better be aware of Where the Paint goes rather than where it came from. ..

Need a little help.

Was able to get out and spray the other side of those practice doors over the weekend. This time I tried thinning with 20% Acetone, about twice as much. But ran into a problem. I must have done something incorrectly after cleaning it last time as this time as I was spraying I was getting an intermitent spray pattern. I also noticed that while flushing the gun and cup I was getting bubbles coming up through the cup.

The finish came out just about the same as the other side when I was finished. Though there looks to be just a very little bit more orange peel look to it. I also noticed a few water droplets in the filter on the gun but nothing in the filter on the tank.

Any suggestions?

YD, I am fortunate enough that I am well away from my neighbors and about 70' from my own house and also good will enough with my neighbors that if they were bothered they would politely let me know. Besides if I have to listen to his 56 Chevy at 8am then he can smell a bit of my paint. I love my neighbor accept on July 5th when I have to pick up all his bottle rockets from my yard.

Sounds like you need to changed your filter at the gun. I change mine EVERY time I shoot. EVERY time. I use the Cheap ones from Harbor Freight. $2.50

Regulator and traps after the compressor is all you need.

Gesh ..getting again way over complicated on a spray job.

Know your gun and paint .. Prep well .. then shoot it.

YD, That's why I'm asking what could I have done wrong either while cleaning the gun or upon reassembly?

While I was spraying the paint the second time I was getting a sputtering effect from the gun. Then while running mineral spirits through to clean it out/flush it smoothed out and stopped sputtering. The spray pattern was even. Did I not get something tight enough? Besides trying to thin the paint down some more I also increased the gun pressure 5lbs to 35lbs.

bonz, intermittant spray can be from not tightening the air cap or tip enough, or a stuck needle, since youy solved it with running thinner thru it, and didnt retighten anything, sound like it just needed a little more cleaning. I spray the reducer i use with the system 1st, to see how its working, before i fill the cup....

Your sputtering sounds like a loose needle packing ( the nut and packing at the needle to the head of the gun ). Or It could be a loose fluid nozzle. Or even a clog in the vent in your cup creating a vacuum affect.

Did you have any paint coming out of places other then where the needle comes out of the front ?

Go through the gun and clean everything .. then put it all back and try the flush with water. Then flush with acetone.

Never pull your needle packing unless you plan on replacing it That part does not need to be removed when cleaning your gun.
