Only so much you can do at 21 lol :blue:

My earliest boating recollection was at age 4. When I was 13 Dad sold the boat because it was starting to get rotten from years of outdoor storage. Mom wouldn't let him buy a new one because they had no garage to store it in and she wouldn't have another in her backyard.

When I was 19, Grandma had just died and Grandpa had just retired. I suggested to him we build a boat in his garage and then keep it there when finished. His eyes lit up and the project began forthwith.

When I was 21, and had just graduated from the University, I took a cute young thing out for a boatride and I told her she could be first mate for the day.

Its now 46 years later and the old girl is still around. Many boats have come and gone but the Admiral was the best decision I ever made.

Sounds like at 21 you're already doing pretty good.

Nice, I bought my first boat at 12 and have owned one every year since other than 1 where I sold my old boat to my dad and didn't get out on the water for a whole summer. Sucked big time which is why I bought what I have now even without a good place to store it.

Nice story about the young cute one thing, I did that one time when I was 18 and turned out badly, lost the prop out in the middle of a decent sized lake.

Current girlfriend is not fond of boats but loves taking others out so time will tell on that one.

For 21 not doing terrible but always can be better like if I was on the water today instead of inside hiding from the thunderstorm and terrible downpour we are getting.

trust me, the 21 part will change, lol. I think at 21 you are doing well. A new boat, wow. I got my first new boat at 56...

Thanks and I have my previous business to thank for the ability to do it and also my job (DevOps for an AI company). Hoping to buy a house in the next year or two so garage stored is soon :D

Before you go too much further, you need to set your priorities. Sometimes when time gets told you end up sorry.

In my case, when the kids were born only 2 things changed. 1. we had to put the bimini up all the time now. 2. We had diaper bags, etc to take along. So, all is good. My wife loves the boat as much as i do. Its our life.

One of my buddies married a girl who didn't like boats, and after the nuptials she made him sell it and start doing the (boring) things she liked.

Just saying...marriage isn't like a box of chocolates....you DO know what you're getting.
