dh should note that empty space in the high speed jet would be a good thing, however. Access is by way of the plug at the bottom front of the carb bowl. Clear with a blast or two of carb spray, using the plastic nozzle — wouldn’t hurt to carefully run a piece of soft wire or sift mono through to make sure. The orifice is brass, and easily damaged — recommend leaving it in place while clearing it.

Thanks everyone for choke, carb, and needle suggestions. Tomorrow I'll get back to it... will start with a seat test by blowing through the tube (right side up and upside down), and then disassemble, confirm the oem kit job I did, clean thoroughly, and confirm all the passages are open and circuits are functioning.

The actual point gap does not matter !----The points MUST open at the correct time for strongest / highest voltage spark.----The CORRECT time is found with the timing fixture and meter.-----Human feel / error with gauges is eliminated using fixture and meter.
