No grandkids yes, oldest getting married next week and youngest been trying few years, starting to look at options.

Do have a few fake ones but not sure I can shoehorn them into the maths...

You WILL be having grandkids and maybe soon, so the boat has to be ready when the time comes …

They used to ask me how I could afford to put gas into my 30' Scarab Sport for a short summer.-----I just said that overall, it is cheaper than a season pass at the golf club.----And I caught some fish to eat or give away.

new question, do 'consumable' tools still count as tools? Like wire wheels for angle grinder?

Absolutely ... tools are tools. That is rule #7 in the Enablers' Guide to Boat Repair Budgets.

Gray area, if the consumables are exclusively for my projects ( they never are 😁) but if ,even at a stretch , they could be used for house ( where she lives ) or her car then no ,they go against the general budget.
My new dinghy went on the general budget 😁IMG_20250513_133602.jpg

A rib as a general expense. Nice work....
Ohh ,it has cost me a German oak wall clock ,a 14 m² garden shed and a Murano glass clown .....so far .....and I have to sell my ally dinghy, so yeah a bargain 😁

just updated my spreadsheet and i'm $47 over budget but that does include some tools as well as the possible future motor ($450) so now that I'm about to start rebuilding and have all known needed supplies I think i'm going to win!

$47 over? If the government can figure out how to lose billions, I’m sure you can figure out how to gain a few Benjamin’s here and there on the accounting sheets. 😂

I thought I has the $$$$ situation under control, BUT . . . I've been getting $50 to death the past few weeks. this year was supposed to be a lower budget year . . . not sure how it will all shake out.
