Re: BRAND NEW Larson from dealer - Not NEW!
Several years ago, my husband had some problems with a brand new ford we purchased. Something with the engine, and the entire engine needed to be replaced on a 2mo old explorer. Well long story short, it was a fiasco and we were driving a rental car for 3 (maybe even more )months before ford would pull a new engine off their assembly line and send it to CA. Anyway, since then, that dealership has bent over backwards, sideways or any which way to make us happy. We are going to buy our 4th vehicle from that dealership next month. All the managers know us by name and all the employees want to keep us happy and keep the reputation ok despite the major issue in the past. I've even referred several of my friends to purchase their vehicle there as well. Besides, now if we ever have a problem we always go straight to the top as we've established a relationship with the big guns. Let me give you an example:<br />With our most recent Ford, a 2002 expedition, we felt like the transmission was slipping while visiting las vegas in the 110 degree heat. So we thought we should have it looked at before our 5hr trip home (a large stretch with no rest stops or cell service). The dealership in Vegas wouldn't look at it for 3-5 days. (we were due to be home to the kids the following day). They didn't even empathize with our story. We put a phone call into our home dealership, who then put some pressure on the vegas dealership and we left our vehicle in vegas for repair. Our home dealership paid for an upgraded hotel room, a rental car, and got our vehicle back to us within days. None if this would have happened had our relationship not started out so rocky. Sometimes !@#$ happens. Give the dealership a chance to reconcile the relationship, it may benefit you more than you think. But only one chance, after that if they blow it. Move on
